They are straight up forcing average people to either get the vaccine or give up the ability to support themselves.

The media has convinced people that it's somehow this last 20% of people that is causing society not to get back to normal. Even when we ultimately pressure our way to 99%, it still won't be enough. And even then these same people will complain not enough people are getting boosters.

Now put on your damn seat belt, mine doesn't work unless you wear yours!

totally unreasonable to ask a healthy young man who is in near perfect physical condition to get a shot that doesn't even work. If he gets covid, big deal. He'll have a cold for a few days and life will go on and he'll have natural immunity which is much better than synthetic - 15x stronger antibodies some studies suggest. Kyrie 100% right here.

What!?

I think this is incorrect information.

PS…I am sure you’re talking about another type of big three. Like three different players. Right? I can’t read every post sorry

I don't. He made it about playing with his best friends. Now he's learning that's not always the best career decision.

FWIW, I don't think KD joining the Nets was about playing with his best friends, rather he went there because they were best placed to offer him a pathway to winning in way that would be respected... and regain what his legacy lost from joining GSW, if that makes sense.

Is Bradley Beal exempt?

Seems to me his stance is the exact same as Kyrie when it comes to not getting vaccinated. I don’t have an opinion that is negative of either player.

Not a big fan of mandates, but less of a fan of objectively dumb analogies. Your seatbelt can't potentially tether to another car and weaken their own seatbelt. Not getting a vaccine can do this.

And seatbelts are a law that we have all signed off on (granted, one that I do disagree with but personally find helpful to myself and those around me).

Part of being a part of a democratic society is agreeing to the majority rules and customs of said society (or don't, and face the consequences of your government). Most of us on these message boards are extremely fortunate to be part of the ones we are (we won't hear from the less fortunate). But I do also appreciate the healthy debate.

All I will say is that if Kyrie truly feels a certain way about his stance (to the tune of tens of millions of dollars), he should stand the **** up and speak on it with the platform he has. I'm just not entirely confident he understands what he's doing, other than he knows it's contrarian.

Kyrie and Beal could use their platforms to speak on the hypocrisy of states rights in relation to a global pandemic I suppose, but ultimately that's all they would be doing (and this is a fever topic as is). Beal does not need to be vaccinated to play in his home municipality. Kyrie does.

Frankly I do wish they would speak on their feelings on the matter. Discussion is always a positive imo.

It’s not 20 percent. We don’t have 80 percent of the country vaccinated. So it’s not 20 percent left. In some parts of the country it’s only.20 percent vaccinated.

That’s what’s wrong with Sham’s post saying he is only doing it for the people who can’t. But Kyrie doesn’t say anything. How is being a social injustice defender if he doesn’t talk. He’s trying to make his point heard fine. Get out there with his voice and say it. Or he won’t play and eventually everyone will stop, reporting on it and move on.

I think I just lost some brain cells reading this. This is so embarrassing lol. Just throwing out random numbers with no proof and making terrible analogies  Trying to equate seatbelt use to a contagious pandemic. Plus….seatbelt use mandates are actually a thing for everyone’s safety  So lazy, such a snowflake, so pathetic

DC doesn't have mandates, so he would only miss games in brooklyn and golden state, which is not a lot, so the team doesn't care that much. He's lucky lol

I was reading the latest news in the Realgm Wiretap: it seems that Irving wants to be a sort of discount-Che Guevara, but the difference with other revolutionaries is that he only cares about feeding his ego or fighting against a delusional sense of oppression (in a country like the US nonetheless). It only shows that Irving simply doesn't know anything about the world if he thinks his GOV is oppressive.

He's protesting against a "condition of employment". If you don't want to get Vaccinated and be a dope then its up to you but when you play stupid games you have to deal with the consequences. Its not like you're never finding another job or anything like that. But you do run the risk of not getting benefits and getting loved ones sick. All reasons to just stop crying and get vaccinated. I'd trust Fauci over Kyrie any day of the week. If 90% get vaccinated we can all go back to a mostly normal society.

Kyrie's actions show that he doesn't care about me.
Why should I care about him?

What you're saying isn't necessarily wrong, but it's a great way to rationalize pretty much anything. If you take North Korea, Venezuela or Afghanistan as yardsticks, then everything is going excellently in the west. And the whole feminist and LGBTQ movements can't even be justified, if we compare how those groups are treated in many Muslim countries. Workers' unions shouldn't even exist, cause people working at the Nike and Primark factories in India have it way worse.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.
