Embiid is now up to 5th in PER, 12th in WS/48, 9th in BPM and 14th in EPM. His last 2 games have brought him back into the conversation but I do think it's important to note these 2 games make up some of the slack of his start and he's definitely not a frontrunner yet.

Denver is going to be very dangerous in the playoffs.

Jokic is a trash this season. He's afraid to shoot the ball. He's one of the worst Denver players this season and I am being serious. His name shouldn't be mentioned in this topic this season.

You aren't being serious. And if you are, you need to reevaluate well everything. :D

He is feeding his teammates. I think RS and MVP do not motivate him much anymore. He has playoff mentality this year. He is involved in bring the best of all players in the team to win playoffs. Denver will be a problem in the West this year.

Jokic is 4th in PER, 2nd in WS/48, 4th in BPM, 1st in RAPTOR and 7th in EPM. He's clearly not as dominant as last year but come on man, you're overblowing this just because he's shooting less and getting the likes of Murray, MPJ and KCP more involved.

He had 4 good games out of 13, I watched them all, they can't call him superstar or MVP candidate, when he wont take the shots. He's not Ben Simmons , Jokic can score in variety ways, yet he's wasting his talent and costing Denver's games in process .

Jokic only scored below 20 points in 5 games so far. In those 5 games the Nuggets are 4-1. The 1 loss was by 25 points to Portland. Murray and KCP both had terrible games and this wouldn't have been fixed by Jokic just taking more shots. The other 3 Denver losses this season had Jokic scoring 27, 23 and 29 points.

What games did he cost Denver? They are 9-4. Most of the losses were pretty clear. And like the poster above me mentioned, Jokic scored pretty decent in most of the losses.

You're really dumb for that take

Jokic can put up big numbers if he needs to. He finally has the luxury to not need to and we get these stupid takes. Last year people would have been saying the Nuggets record is too bad for him to get MVP consideration.

Its the catch 22 of the whole "cant be MVP cause the team is bad" argument. Well if the team were good enough then said player wouldn't need to put up monster stats, and in that case they're not MVP anymore either. You have to strike the right balance and most players can't. Giannis does, which is why he's the frontrunner.

Jokic isn't winning MVP this year because the Nuggets are finally good. Get over it. The best version of this Nuggets team will be with Jokic seeing a decrease to his points/rebounds, and an increase to his assists/efficiency. That's facts.

Avoid the personal attacks. Criticize the post but don't insult the poster like you did in your first line here. -b

Jokic looks to score more against good defensive teams and tends to pass more against, well, lesser defensive teams. He’s very wise to avoid banging in the post a whole lot during the RS. It’ll cost him an MVP but he will be more fresh come April. Watch Boston and Golden State games and he looks a lot more aggressive to score. These teams are less likely to send help coverage so he doesn’t have as many angles to play around with.

Please tell me you're just a troll
Jokic is averaging 21/9.5/9 on TS 68% and the Nuggets are 9-4. I would love for the worst player on my team to put up those numbers.

Jokic is being incredibly unselfish.

This could really make Denver a title contender.

He's giving all his teammates opportunities and it'll pay off huge.

This is what you call a high IQ player. Knows it's a team sport unlike a lot of these selfish ball hogs comprising 90% of current stars in the league.

He's gone way too far in that direction though. Dont get me wrong Im not saying he is hurting his team or anything ridiculous like that. Hell I wouldnt be shocked if Jokic has the best On/Off in the league for any player getting legit minutes (last I saw it, it was at like +25 or something crazy like that).

I also want to preface what Im about to say with, I dont think this is an issue for the regular season and I dont think Jokic will remain this unselfish come playoff time. So want to make it clear I dont think this is a big deal haha.

But with that said, Jokic being this unselfish especially come playoff time wont be the winning solution for them. Jokic is still the best player by a wide margin on that team. Come playoff time you want your best player taking the most shots, because that will be your best offense in the playoffs.

So ya come playoff time I hope Jokic is going to be taking around 20 shots per game (just like last year in the playoffs). The big difference though is this year instead of guys like Will Barton and Monte Morris getting 13 shots a game. Its going to be MPJ and Murray getting those shots instead. That is what will make this team a very scary team come playoff time.

Right now Jokic is playmaker for the team with 2nd best OFRTG in the league, first in FG%, and 3P% and some people are counting his shots. He is taking what defense gives him/them. Right now they have 3rd best winning percentage in the league (1st in the West) and played 9 games out of 13 on the road. One of the comments last night was that there was never more dominant 8 pt game.
BTW Jokic is playing through injured wrist on shooting hand whole season.
