Why did you change the original post from saying system to squad? Obviously your SYSTEM is better, even though the squad isn't quite there...your just being bias to try to make a point.

Because imo "system" was a weasel word underplaying the raps situation this year

Scottie, Mobley and Giddey have separated themselves from everyone else imo.

Wagner and Duarte with the honorable mention.

Scottie is in a great situation in Toronto in that they have the best developmental staff in the NBA in my opinion, and if anyone can improve his shot it's them. His biggest weakness is something they have a proven track record with fixing, OG was a horrible shooter coming into the NBA. If your starting point for a player that's 19 is that they're 6'9" with a 7'3" wingspan, can run offense, has a great motor and a high IQ, you draft them and bank on your developmental staff which is what Masai did.

He's a stud, never understood why people wanted the Raptors to take Suggs over him.

Scottie's offensive game has been a revelation. remarkably he is shooting over 50% on the season while averaging 18 points a game. nothing to fix. just needs more reps...

Giddey is super impressive, especially considering he is over a year younger than most rookies in this class. Heck he is younger than Chet Holmgren and only 1 month older than Paolo Banchero...

I thought he was 6'7? He looks massive though, but just one of those short neck guys.

Scottie killing it. I’m anxious but excited to see how he plays when teams start scheming for him.

With that said, I still understand why you take Cade over him and while I disagree, I can see an argument for Green. But there’s just no justifiable reason for why Mobley didn’t go #1. Guy is just so special and unique.

Nearly all the top rookies sans Suggs have come out the gates and have looked really promising. It’s usually always a mixed bag this early on.

He's taken to the speed of the game so well. It really helps when you come from playing in a professional league where you're already playing against big, seasoned bodies. I think he just turned 19 a couple of weeks ago.

There were several things to fix mechanically about Scottie's shot. What's amazing is the pace in which he's incorporated the changes. They've changed his stance - his toes no longer pointed directly toward the basket (which is how it's often taught) because his shooting window was misaligned (by window I mean from shoulder to elbow and elbow to hand), now it's better aligned to the basket. He also had a tendency to collapse his knees inward (knee "valgus") which looks much better.

One thing he always had going for him was a high release point so his shot will be hard to block. His technique is really solid out to 18 feet or so, can break down as it nears the 3 point line. Repetition and extra core strength will get him there. Might not shoot a high % of 3s this year when all is said and done but I see that being his big leap next year.

Seriously I'm so happy Giddey is doing well. He was #6 on my big board and I felt so vindicated when a smart GM like Sam Presti agreed with me lol. I even got him on 2/3 fantasy teams and named one of them Giddey Up!

Mobley and Barnes the most consistent for sure but Green and Giddey doing so well, especially considering their team context. Great draft class.

Mobley might have a spotty offense at times but his defense is ridiculous.
