I counted 6 clear blocks by Drummond. Scorekeeper was stingy.
Oh, and Stuckey's pass at 0:48 was wicked.

Nando de Colo: 4 points (2-2 FG, 0-1 FT, one sick move), 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and no turnovers in 14 minutes. Just another day at the office.

He'll have trouble getting to either 20 OR 10, but it's the 10 that super hard to envision. The guy couldn't even get 10 in College, and his rebound has been similarly mediocre in the league. He lacks the talent to pull down 10+.
Zeller lead all centers in rebounding % that were in the draft last year. 9.6 rebounds in 28 minutes per game is pretty excellent.
But hes not even top 20 amongst rookies now

Re: The OFFICIAL Rookie impressions thread pt. II
Nice to see Drummond making such an impact. Many people felt that he wasn't capable of this kind of contribution for another year or two...
His stats don't seem impressive at face value, but his advanced stats are great. He plays limited mins and produces really well. Getting 14 rebounds and 5 blocks in 21 minutes is ridiculous.
The funny thing is that he isn't a "disciplined" rebounder like Varajao or Love, who don't rely on athleticism to get boards, they rely on instincts and positioning. BUT, with that said, athleticism helps A LOT. Right now this guy is flat out out jumping and out hustling guys. When Dre starts to box out consistently he will be one of the best rebounders in the league.
Gotta love seeing guys who make an impact without even having a single play run for them. Drummond is special. More special than Knight and Monroe I believe.

Isn't Drummond the Piston's best defender too?

I certainly was a non believer prior to the draft, thought Drummond was years away. Boy, I was wrong and happy to be wrong. What Im most impressed with is his defensive impact, he is a true paint protector, you can see everytime that he comes into the game how tremendous his impact is. I think he's going to get a few DPOY's in his career. I also think he's starting by season's end, his mpg have been increasing so its only a matter of time IMO.

BUT....he also plays 12 minutes less and yet is still pretty close already....
Anthony Davis
PER36: 17.4ppg, 9.3rpg, 2.3bpg and 1.5spg
Andre Drummond:
PER36: 12.6ppg, 12.5rpg, 2.8bpg and 1.5spg
One player dubbed possibly the best prospect since Lebron and hyped to have the potential to be an incredible defensive player with unreal shotblocking instincts...the other supposedly raw. Something doesn't add up.
He's also #1 among rookies in FG% at 57%, and even though Davis avg more bpg, Drummond actually has blocked almost twice as many shots thus far - 45 for Dre to only 24 for Davis. That puts Drummond #1 among rookies in total blocks.

He's already 11th in the LEAGUE in total blocks, and doing it in only 18 mpg

Without a doubt. He might be the best defender on a 1/3 of the teams in the league too right now. He's currently 20th in the league in Defensive Rating on br.com

Re: The OFFICIAL Rookie impressions thread pt. II
His freethrows are the only big question mark because he is at a pukeworthy percentage right now. He has shot at being a 18/13/3 monster....Drummond would breath new life into the big man game.
Seriously though. What is with his freethrows? He seems to have a decent touch and a decent jumper..

Re: The OFFICIAL Rookie impressions thread pt. II
At this point im not worried about his free throw percentage. Work on that in the off season. Just keep hustling his ass off and he’ll be fine.

10, 10.6, 10.25, 13.6-- His rebounds per 40 in his college career. Look at the one outlier year, in his senior year. It's great that he showed that improvement, but after watching him in the NBA, he's easily pushed out of position, he lacks length and simply talent at rebounding the basketball. 10 in the league is pretty unlikely for him.

Drummond's positives on the court out weigh his one negative and that's his free throws. The kid's touch around the rim is so soft for someone of his size. This kid is gonna be a star one day if he can develop an exceptional back to the basket game. #freeDre

Drummon was literally the only thing worth watching in the Wizards game last night, and I'm a Wizards fan. He was dominant when he was in the game on both ends.
Hoping Beal can go tonight so I have something else to look forward to.

I'm a Wiz fan and I have to say I'm very impressed with Drummond. He might be better than Ant Davis in the long run due to his big body and huge hands.
