Ah, good thing you mentioned it. Parks were among the last public places to lock down in Greece. You are still allowed to go out and run/job but you aren't allowed to go in parks.

I actually think the parks in my area will be so full with people now (since it's the only the public place that will be open) that they'll be forced to close the parks down too. I hope that isn't the case, but it seems inevitable.

Yeah, it will probably become inevitable if they get crowded with people.

My county of 980,000 people has 3891 cases, insane. If we were a country we'd be 14th right now behind Belgium.

Also of note, the people who were quarantined in the containment zone in New Rochelle are asymptomatic but are still testing positive 22 days later.

Transitioning from med student to intern is always trial by fire. Just have to work your ass off without getting burned. I don't think any program should train interns wo some form of supervision to place a central line or intubate somone. Otherwise it's a law suit waiting to happen.

Time for me to leave this forum. And you're always welcome to leave America. :D

There is nothing more patriotic than honest criticism of your country.

criticism and bigotry are not the same thing.

the post started with the stereotype that americans are provincial and uncultured.

it was followed by attributing a negative quality to americans. not humans.

some americans travel. some don't. just like citizens of every other country. this is about class, not country.

there is nothing unique about self-delusion as american ability. homo sapiens have been around for 70,000 years. america for 400. humans everywhere and everywhen have been self-delusional. it comes from the brain. we all have them.

OT of OT of OT of OT:

I am working with manufacturers in China on masks, sanitizers, and ventilators. If anyone of you are in the healthcare system and your site needs those equipment, PM me. No retail or individual purchase please.

One thing I can tell you is it's getting crazy in China. The phrases I am hearing is "the world is fighting for these resources". I was just talking to a representative from a local hospital here for a quote on 1000 KN95 masks, two hours later my contact in China told me 1) that $2 unit price is not available anymore 2) the minimum order goes from 1k to 10k.

Didn't Cuomo just say NY has 5k ventilators right now and they can't get hold of another 30k in two weeks it's game over? That's pretty scary stuff. We are working on ventilator deliveries as early as April 10th...

Dems added some items that have nothing to do with this on their version which they shouldn't be. GOP did the same thing on their version by adding abortion items in their bill and trying to give $500 billion to corporations with no strings attached, with no communication as to who it was given to for 6 months.

Lets try and keep the political stuff out of it. There is plenty of discussion on it in this thread viewtopic.php?f=69&t=1952700 if any of you would like to contribute there.

They do, but interns are usually on the front lines. Ever before this pandemic. I still think they will be precautions for the coming interns. It's a pretty malignant program if their interns end up sick or intubated. Would frighten future candidates.

I think that this is the furthest away from OT that a post can get. If anything, this should be stickied. If there are any healthcare workers in here, this is valuable information.

It is not OT. Didnt some experts already predicted this and were either labeled as racist , doomsday or other terms? China gave the problem to the world now all of a sudden the world needs china to save it?

However I think South Korea is also ramping up test kits and masks to supply everyone. Also, aren't there EU countries making ventilators ina rush?

Thanks. I think it just gets sensitive if you get involved in the medical supply chain these days. I am volunteering my free time and I bet some people will say oh this guy might get some profit here and there, well, not that I care about that or I have the time to argue with those.

The reason I only post here (along with my previous posts on mask information) is not just because it's merchandise related, it's because things are ever changing. I get one price now and a different price later. I just had the embarrassing moment today to tell a nurse the price jumped from $2 to $3.5 a piece for one KN95 and they no longer take orders of "only" 1000. People are scrambling in China too, some too busy squeezing profit, some genuinely getting lost and forced to increase their asking price due to the shortage and hot demand.

Maybe once I get some concrete info I will start sharing in a more obvious way. For now, I'll just post here with updates.

I say those "China vs US" garbage are just noise and we should ignore them. Instead of arguing with those, I can save time and do more useful things, like sharing information, or providing others who need help. Heck, even if China vs US is real, it's not problem to solve or to talk about on a basketball forum. I'll just leave it to Trump and Xi.

One thing about the ventilators is I am seeing $2k-$3k wholesale price. I never dealt with those before only saw them in the hospitals, I always thought those bad boys are gonna cost you 5 figure a piece.

We are human but not machines. This is a neutral statement on a quite big news. It's not politically driven and has zero agendas behind it.

So they DOW futures are pointing up huh?

So, will people still get their $1000 checks? I am self-employed, and have seen a large decline in my business due to "shelter in place".

Ban stock buybacks forever. That exact practice used to be called 'pump and dump' except why dump when you can get a bailout.
