I hate this bs argument...same excuse made for lebron..

Bs the only data they learned today is a fat L.

The data also tells me next game try to win!

Jazz held out Mitchell even though he wasn't on the injury report and he wanted to play. Interpret that how you will.

The stupid antic Rudy tried to pull by flopping on the bench is a part of why a lot of people don’t like him. He’s just not really easy to support when he does stupid stuff. He’s a great defender but cmon wtf was that

I guess Brooks is saying that nobody in the Jazz can guard him...I mean after watching tonight I find it hard to disagree, but maybe some Jazz players can latch onto that for motivation or something.

Yea Gobert is still a star they just didn't have Mitchell. Gobert is not gonna carry an offence but he will lock down the other team. But JV's gravity is letting players attack Gobert and score on him. Mitchell is gonna have to come in and attack JV and get him in foul trouble to open up Goberts defense.

Yada, yada…Gobert’s defense…blah, blah…

Brooks and Morant EVISCERATED the Jazz defense tonight.

If the Jazz don’t make their 3’s they are SOL.

Gobert plus 9 in half the game. He was not the problem.

If you just depend on 3s, this is what happens. 60% attempt on 3s? Good luck with that

If he is going to take 25 shots a night the Jazz are going to win this series in 5. He's a tremendous competitor and I love his irrational confidence, but that plays right into Utah's hands.

Yeah....oh, and they should also play their All Star who averages 35 points against this team too.

Yeah, I'm no mathamagician, but I'm guessing shooting 12-47 was the problem for the Jazz.

Yeah, Brooks is absolutely the guy you want taking all the big shots, provided you're the other team.

If he can pare back the shooting a bit, his plus D and all round game make him a big positive on that contract, but I don't know if he's being forced to play like Kobe, or he just thinks he is Kobe.

I dont think thats part of why people don't like him tho, most people like him, but some think hes overrated, cause they they can't accept him as a star cause hes not a scorer and creator on offense.

Draymond caused his team a playoff spot by being a turnover factory and negative on offense.

Rudy got fouled out in 25 minutes against Jonas Valanucianus because he can't guard him or keep him off the glass despite being paid 40 million to be the "Dpoy"

Short term this is all about the Jazz they have a vet team and their widow is open right now.

Long term is all about the Grizz the amount of experience this team is getting right now is going to be crucial in a few years especially with JA.

I am talking about the Utah perimeter defense that allowed penetration all night long. Morant is certainly talented, but Brooks isn’t some kind of offensive savant…and he got wherever he wanted to go. People talk all the time about guys like Ingles and O’Neal (or even Conley) as being good defenders, but they certainly weren’t tonight. And guys like Clarkson and Bogdanovich can give up as many points as they score (although full marks to Bogdanovich for making it a game late).

Utah will still likely win this series, but I wonder if this formula of bombs-away offense and a D that relies HEAVILY on Gobert can win a championship. Their perimeter D needs to be WAY better than they were tonight.

babyjax13 wrote:I love that every time Utah loses - regardless of if Rudy has a bad game or not (he really did not this time, and I think two of his last three fouls were bad calls) - people come out in droves to say he is not worth his contract. I think it's a stupid take. He can be a top two player on a championship caliber team, so he is absolutely worth the contract. The question is if Mitchell can be, and I'm not sure he can ... and if you overcome that it is through an excellent supporting cast. We *might* have a good enough one to overcome our shortcomings.

It's the same narrative: Jazz miss open shots and shoot poorly it's Goberts fault. The Jazz turn the ball over like crazy- Gobert is unplayable. Clarkson and Bogey having some of the worst half of basketball is probably because he can't shoot 3s. JV being a being respectable basketball player in both ends so Gobert has to stay honest with him makes Gobert overpaid.

I mean look what happened to Curry. That guy is basically an overpayed streak shooter who should probably come off the bench if you go by what that GB says. Honestly, there are so few intelligent posts on this board. It's shocking how poorly people understand the game.
