You look at the impact. The name of the award is "The Most Valuable Player". Who has been the most valuable for the team?
I think "valuable", I would vote for Jokic. He was the most impactful for his team. Those guys all had amazing years. Giannis, Joel, a lot of other guys.

Bogdanovic is also Serbian, not saying he is the MVP is treason in Serbia and would probably get you knifed, no joke.

Warning issued for xenophobic comment.

No because the Nuggets team is revolved around Jokic. They build this team for him to succeed, which he didn't. I never get that "switch those players" because it never makes sense.

Ah yes, let's ignore the $60 million worth of player injuries.

Lets ignore a top 2 defender in the league, who is a generational athlete, is the teams only facilitator, and at 15ppg scorer as well. With Simmons you lost two players in one, and you got all the drama.

Game, set, match.

Oh but Jimmy naming his former teammate is totally without bias right?

A lot, when these "personal beliefs" are so blatantly idiotic. Jackson is obviously not the sharpest tool in the drawer, to put it mildly, so his opinion on basketball is pretty worthless too.

So attack the argument and make him look like a fool. Attacking him based on his own personal career is wierd.

History will say that Jokic is an all-time great. Like Giannis, Curry, and few others.

Embiid will never be in the same sentence as these guys.

People will laugh at all the threads where Jokic was compared with Jahlil Okafor, Embiid, Towns, Porzingis etc.

Embiid is an alltime great, sorry to burst your bubble. Those other players aren't even in the same league.

Why don't we talk about history when your 2 time advanced stats MVP wins a chip. Embiid still competing against a team that would have wiped the floor against the Nuggets.

The same team that Jokic wiped the floor with both times he faced them this year?

Hmm, sounds like cap.

Jokic loses to teams that either win it all, make the Finals, or are the favorites to win it all. Embiid loses to people making the playoffs for the first time.

It's pretty shocking that most of ya'lls arguments against former players siding with Embiid is to question their intelligence. Sad stuff.

Another former player. A well respected one as well.

damn bro I really thought you would come to accept the mvp results and leave it at that

I guess I shouldn't be surprised to see you all over this thread throwing the same tantrums you did all season

Homie if you drop Embiid in for Jokic against Curry and the Warriors they are getting dominated all the same. Why would history look back on this negatively? Embiid has never even been to a conference finals and hasn't even been a top 5 player in the post season. I like Jax, but he said NOTHING of substance because he has no actual argument. Some serious racial vibes from him here.

Embiid had Maxey and Tobias, both of whom are better than anyone that Jokic had. Then you include half a season with Harden

It’s actually pretty shameful that Embiid only won 3 more games with that cast

Well deserved Jokic, more pts, rebs, stls, blks than last season in less minutes.

Embiid had a great season too

I did just that in the other post.

It is not an intelligent take to say "An award that recognizes regular season achievement should depend on arbitrary "Chance to win the Championship".

Remember '11 Mavericks? Nobody in their right mind thought they'd win it all, and they did. They were 18-1 odds, EVEN WORSE than the Nuggets this year...

Isn’t this the definition of paper tiger ?
Basically the best excuse is that’s it’s just a regular season award. Which is true but it devalues the ‘Value’ part of the award. At no point is regular season the most valuable anything . It’s fodder to the post season and the most valuable players usually get recognized here.

Ok so we’re just gonna ignore the opinions of Gobert and Draymond? 2 guys who’ve actually had to matchup with both players during this season?

I personally would say that the opinions of Draymond of Gobert hold much more value than 2 players that haven’t been in the league for years like Antoine Walker and Stephen Jackson.

Have you ever been to Serbia? What are your experiences with crime in Serbia? Igo every year. I can assure you this is not the case.

In fact I'd guess it's far more likely for me to get knifed in Philly for saying Jokic is the MVP. In fact, the murder rates support my assumption
