The Knicks are so much worse than the Bucks who just lost in 5. The Cavs are a bunch of kids with bad spacing. This is probably the best 8 seed in NBA history.

Absolutely cheering for both teams here, this is an unexpected treat in the 2nd round.

Jimmy Butler ability to unlock top 3 player mode every playoffs without fail is legendary.

On the other hand, to see the Knicks finally back in the playoffs and winning a series, with a chance to go to the conference finals… I think it’s great for basketball.

heat fans, the reason why you lose this is simple... the knicks are elite at defending the pick and roll with ice, drop coverage, hedge, and blitz coverage... the spacing is always kept with IQ and hart in position if the ball handler gets a pick, and mitch has perfect awareness of space to pressure the ball handler if he get to the paint. toppin also collapses to protect the paint a lot, along with julius. the reason why the knicks do so well is because this forces the primary ball handler to take tough shots... and this does not begin to address when the knicks actually pressure with hedge or double teams which will be done to get the ball out of butler's hands.

the knicks defense will give the heat nightmares, mitch, quick, hart, barrett, these players work in synchrony, and if you watch the first game, josh hart will always be in the best position defensively. the guy was a perfect addition because of that

this series is not as close as media and talking heads make it seem, as the knicks defensive coverage has been the best of any team in the postseason

You didnt understand their narrative. Beating the Cavs and the Regular season where they got 3 more wins than us is more validating. Brunson > Jimmy, IQ at 6'2 is a Jimmy stopper, Robinson is the 2nd coming of Rodman. They got this!

Well yeah, we're gunna have an ECF to get ready for

So trying to predict how each team will plan on defending one another and what would make the most sense to me would be to use their JB & Bam on our JB & Ju, their two best defenders on our two best offensive players; hope Love can keep Mitch/IH from feasting on the offensive glass; let Vincent / Martin chase RJ / IQ around whenever one of them is out there with our top 2; with Lowry / Robinson trying to hide on Hart / Grimes.

From our perspective there are a couple of big questions that could change a lot:
1. Robinson or Hartenstein?
There were a lot of games in which Mitch only got 18-22 minutes, despite being healthy & not being in foul-trouble, and if Spo starts having Bam bringing the ball up the court to pull our 5 into space, this could be another one of those matchups where Thibs leans on Hartenstein more than Robinson.

2. Jimmy or the shooters?
If their shooters stay hot, then even with all of our bodies we'll have to pick between giving Jimmy extra attention or staying tight to their shooters.

I think I would start the game focused on keeping their shooters from coming to life and letting Jimmy be Jimmy; before starting to throw a lot more at Jimmy in the 2nd half when their shooters will have a lot less time to find their rhythm...and Jimmy will have less time to figure out the counters to what we're throwing at him.

I figure Hart & Grimes will be the main Jimmy defenders, but Quickley, Barrett, Randle, and McBride, will likely get thrown at Jimmy at some point...especially if we start throwing the kitchen sink at him the way Thibs did Garland / Mitchell.

Knicks are deeper but Jimmy is the best player in the series by quite a large margin and I think that means Heat in 6. I am biased though.
