Joel Embiid is not far benigh. It will be another close one between him and Jokic.

Foolish noob; you need to look at his macro-regressed reverse osmosis rating to make a proper determination.

Can you tell me one playoff run where he wasn't injured?

The one where he was healthy he averaged 30 against the Celtics, got swept, but he showed up.

Embiid shat the bed game 6 and 7, but people need to realize he has been injured for the majority of his playoff runs. The key will be health, if after health he can't get it done, he goes into the annals of NBA history as a great star who couldn't cut it in the playoffs. Still has a few seasons to change the narrative.

Part of being MVP is playing enough games....

That also goes for being fit enough to play to your potential

Totally, but many seem to think he simply can't perform, when most of the time he's too hurt to perform to his best ability.

Players have to play through injuries. A lot of the greats do.

Hell, Jokic had a sprained wrist going into the playoffs last year.

I think it's a recurring thing for him, 2021, wrist issues...last year in playoffs, wrist issues, even last night he was icing it every time he was on the bench.

FYI: I've got Jokic and Embiid #1 and #2 in my MVP voting right now

Big difference between a sprained wrist and a broken bone in their face.

Embiid couldn’t beat the lowly Atlanta Hawks in a game 7 in Philly. I don’t want to keep hearing about injuries with him. The big turnovers he had gets swept under the rug because of Ben Simmons.

Yeah, one prevents you from shooting in a natural way, while the other...you just throw a mask on over it.

Dozens of players have played with a mask on lol.

1. Jokic - Want to see him at 20 FGA this year which would be a career high. Something like 30/12/8 unanimous MVP and a GOAT contender reg season.

2. Curry - Aimbot starting off like a house on fire, durability/health concern always a factor. As long as GSW have him and Green it’ll always produce all time results for a period of time

3. Embiid - Big oaf. Like Curry, health/durability as always a factor.

4. Luka - Want him to win for change. His splits are right there. Just needs the team results

5. Haliburton - Pacers are going bananas offensively and he’s the QB. He’s one I want to see in the playoffs

Anyway nothing surprising. Jokic should win and make it 3 out of 4 years. Crazy incredible

Him, Lebron and Paul basically hand hold better than average NBA players into offensive sets. It’s crazy to witness in real time. Those are the 3 that do it all the time it’s like having a coach on the court. Green does it for defense as well

Incredible IQ for the game.

Mostly broken noses, not broken orbital bones, which affects your vision. Your peripheral vision (Very important in basketball) is also nearly non-existant with a face mask on. Also he was concussed for one of those injuries. For all of these injuries he also came back far earlier than recommended, so again, it's nothing like a wrist injury.

I think so too.

It's unbelievable that already two weeks into the season and we have two front runners who are likely way ahead of the pack and, barring injury, will be there at the end.

Tatum and Luka just can't seem to keep up. They're prone to have these weird, awful performances.

Giannis could start build up steam as the season progresses, but he's still a distant third (if he's even that high).

If its Embiid and Jokic again, when’s the last time that 2 players finished either 1 or 2 for 4 consecutive years? Magic/Bird maybe(I’m completely guessing) That has to be unheard of not just in the NBA but in all the major sports in the modern era

When you have two players putting up numbers we've never seen before, and setting the standard so high that players who would otherwise be MVPs in previous years/eras (Luka and Tatum) can't even compete, It's a testament to how much better the league has gotten.

Luka and Tatum just aren’t on their level. Tatum disappearing against the Sixers. Same ole with him. Luka will have too many bad shooting games + I don’t expect their record to be good enough when it’s all said and done.

Doctor: You have a fractured right orbital.
Embiid: (looks sad)
Cubbies: Quit complaining Embiid. Put a band aid on it and you’ll be ready to go.

Everyone knows I’m team Jokic but man, Hali doesn’t get talked about enough. One of my favorite players to watch in the league.
