And without Lively or AD to clean up perimeter messes.
LAL are now seriously lacking at the 4/5. Luka and LBJ as your 3/4 with no NBA caliber big men at the five will get them crushed on D and on the boards. Got a feeling it'll be blamed on Reeves when they flame out from the play ins.
Lebron playing the 4 is bad enough. Remember when Aaron Gordon scoring at will with Bron not even with 10 feet of him vs Nuggets.
Luka REALLY doesn’t give af about defense and his fans don’t care either. You essentially have two fanbases who doesn’t hold their favorite player accountable in the slightest. Who wins? The Slovenian boy wonder or Klutch Sports?

I'm a DEN fan all my life so yeah I do remember. And that 11-0 stretch was extra sweet. The refs calling Denver games in the playoffs against LA and Bron without a biased whistle for two years?? Though I was dreaming.

the Lakers don't care about this season, they weren't gonna win a 'chip anyway and they knew that
this is about the next decade, not about this season.the Lakers got offered a once in a life time deal they could never refuse (and shouldn't refuse), you say "hell yeah!" before Harrison regains his sanity and worry about the rest later

Re: Luka AD trade thread Part II
I made a thread saying I understood why Dallas made this trade, and from a pure basketball standpoint I don't think it's that bad at all, especially if he's really out of shape. AD is a legitimate top-10 player and there have been more lopsided trades for sure. What makes it really bad is the PR nightmare they've created. Trading the homegrown superstar and face of the franchise is just such a bad look, even if the concerns about his conditioning in the long run are valid. Luka is better than Tatum and Edwards, but I don't think Boston or Minny pulls the trigger on that trade, for that very same reason. Let's say something weird happens and Denver decides to trade Jokic. He's by far and away the best player in the league, but I guarantee you OKC doesn't trade Shai for him.
The Kyrie/AD duo is going to have to come out of the gate hard to mitigate some of this blowback.

This HAS to be about the future and not right now. For the lakers, it’ll put ass in seats, but not Ws in the win column.

Jerry West to Wilt to Kareem to Magic to Shaq to Kobe to LeBron to Luka all back to back to back is straight up unfair

They definitely wont be competing now.
This is about LBJ and he signed off on this. Lakers are not making this move without his approval. Also, Luka can extend with whoever he wants. Supermax is off the table and LA can offer the same contract that any other team can. LBJ will be retired then and LA will be a team with no talent and maybe a HC still who's got no experience to navigate that situation.

Just like you can’t replace Luka. Imagine drafting one of the greatest players of all time and trading him before he hits his prime
One of these things is not like the other

But what is it about for Dallas. They wanted to get ahead of confrontation!? Multi billion dollar business corporations are now afraid of confrontation?
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way. (Marlo)

You’re right - one of these guys has had to be the anchor of the defense and offense for 99% of his pro career. One guy weighs 270 pounds and is a human traffic cone on defense.

Okay, AD is better than Luka. You win

Maybe they saw the storm a mile away and didn’t wanna lose leverage. Smart for them. I honestly think Luka peaked already
