As much as I hate this idea, it's worth noting that there is already:

ESPNNewYork.com
ESPNLosAngeles.com
ESPNChicago.com
ESPNBoston.com
ESPNDallas.com

Why couldn't they just create an ESPNMiami.com and include this there, along with coverage of the Dolphins, Canes, and Marlins?

Okay, as much as I don't even like this idea and its my team, I have to question where all these fans are coming from who are seemingly only tired of it now that LeBron is a Heat player.

ESPN has been overkill with their LeBron love for a good 2 years now. There was nary a word said before because everybody was holding out hope he may come to their team. Now all of a sudden he makes his decision and you people just now realize ESPN devotes an insane amount of time to cover him and everything he does? Not very convincing...

How can anyone hold this against the Heat? They didn't create the website, ESPN did. People are dumb.

Really? You can't see how this might rub people the wrong way?

For a guy who claims to be the beacon of objectivity, you sure aren't acting like it.

Yes, I can see how it rubs people the wrong way.

Now how is it the Miami Heat's organization's fault, and not ESPN's? Again, PEOPLE ARE DUMB.

How does that make people dumb? I don't care who is up to it. It's annoying.

The Lakers/Cowboys/Yanks have been getting overanalyzed and covered by the media for decades.

The HEAT trio is something unforeseen and historic. They are going to be over-covered to death. If you don't like it, there are other sites for you all to get your news from.

Seems like a lot of people just hate new things....

The funny thing is, the haters are the ones that seem to be the most interested on the Heat, the same people clamoring how horrible it is, will be every day reading up from ESPN, just to hate on the Heat. This reminds me, of hearing that Howard Stern, a huge part of his following, is just people that can't stand him. LOL.

And I plan on doing that. I will still read Hollinger on ESPN when he isn't talking about the Heat.

I understand that this team deserves a lot of media attention, but I hate the fact that ESPN is going to have a Miami Heat site. They really have some journalistic ethics issues this summer. My solution is to just not tune in or read that site. It doesn't mean that I'm not allowed to be annoyed by it, though.

That was just me being especially blunt. There's nothing wrong with finding it annoying, I do too in a way. But for those in this thread saying this is almost worse than "The Decision", implying Miami's at fault, its ridiculous.

ESPN is a business. They're interested in making money. People click on stories with the words LeBron, James, Miami and Heat in them, so this is in their best interest.

Again, this is not the reason ESPN went down the drain. When they seized control of the market and became essentially a monopoly for sports entertainment, that would be the point things fell apart, and that started happening as far back as the '90's. With Fox Sports being mostly relegated to regional coverage now, there is no competition for ESPN out there, and so they can produce half-assed material and cover what they choose with no repercussions.

What ESPN needs is a competitor, but sadly since TV isn't regulated like other businesses, that may never happen.

+1.

Nobody is forcing people to gets their news off of ESPN, if you don't like it don't watch or don't go onto their website.

Who says you aren't? You have that freedom.

But to sit up here and complain about something that ESPN has been doing for years now is mind-numbingly silly.

Why is that? nvm I think I already know..

if you hate it so much don't click it, noones forcing you to read/click it.

There is already a section for Dallas and New York, don't see the big deal with Miami having one, it isn't a Vancouver index page,

Sometimes I feel bad for the die-hard Heat fans on here who have to deal with **** from people every single day simply because LeBron is a douchebag. They have the right to be happy about such talent. It's not their fault LeBron is a total ****. He's on their team now, and they're going to support him.

Lay off the Miami fans. The problem is with the system, not the heat fans.

Chuck called it. embarrassing.

No wonder they tried to whitewash Lebron's image (by killing the story that showed him partying, playing up the "King" moniker, and generally acting douchy).

Appreciate it bro, its really bandwagon fans as well who stockpile the trolling.

If you go on New York, Chicago forums RIGHT NOW, you'll see people saying "I hope they lose/fail miserably/get injured"

But obviously LeBron would be a messiah if he joined their teams.. hypocrites.. :nonono:

@Mag: I thought thats what they were doing at first until I re-read it being a HEAT index, a ESPNMiami would make it less nauseating for other fans, but they still dont have to click if they don't want too.

This is unprecedented. They've never had a site dedicated to a team. They've done cities before, but never a team.

Also, this is the same "news organization" that creates news and sells it.

They've reached a new low. I'll respond by not reading it or watching it.

I'm a regular on the Knicks board and I can't find anyone wishing for them to get injured. Lose or fail miserably yes but that is entirely different.

And no, don't speak for other fans because many (including myself) couldn't stand LeBron and would still despise him if he went to the Knicks.
