Gasol, Manu, and KG shouldn't be in this discussion. Once again, you guys drop the Basketball knowledge ball again.
If I had a top 5 (no specific order)
Rondo
Duncan
Mike Bibby
Kobe
CP3

What a pompous response. If you're going to claim Gasol, Manu and KG aren't in the discussion, at least provide some justification.

Kobe......has played different roles on multiple titles teams. Has won multiple titles on completely different teams personal and make up wise. Thats a sure sign of a player with high bball iq to me.

No question Jeremy Lin has the highest IQ. he has a degree from Harvard.

As for highest basketball IQ, it's probably going to be one of the point guards.
"You can't stop Jeremy Lin fans. You can only hope to contain them."

Bryant, James, Nash, Kidd, Paul and Wade.

There's a reason that James, Bryant, and Wade have distanced themselves from the basketball pack in recent years. They tune in on things on the court that not a lot of players see.

There's a ton of players that have the talent and skill that these players have. The physical gifts and etc. are there BUT the thinking steps ahead of the opposition is not there.

SEE: Josh Smith...all the physical gifts in the world but lacking in the basketball smarts department.

Last year NBA players were polled on this exact question and here is the players they picked:

Bryant, James, Nash, Wade, Kidd, Paul and Deron Williams even got love.

That being said you probably have more concrete knowledge cause you get to watch the players on the television........

Quote from Doc Rivers:

"The other thing about Rondo is he’s the smartest player that I’ve ever coached. His basketball IQ is off the charts. Now it gets him in trouble at times, but he has great feel, he has huge hands, he can rebound, and the thing that I’m most impressed with is he’s doing this without a jump shot. You think about how dominant he has been. It’s always been said that you cannot win in the NBA with a non-shooting point guard. We’re winning with a non-shooting point guard and we’re winning because of his IQ.

I mean, this is unreal

just because a guy is ball dominant he has to have a high bbiq? Because that is the only real criteria i see right now

you mean Manu?? sure he's good, but this guy plays regularly out of his abilities and you see that on the tape. the out of control shots, turnovers, drives...

you mean Kobe?? i mean it's already been covered.

but guys liek LeBron get passed up? Do people realize that LeBron does 90% of his damage in a half court system and puts up unreal numbers? He's not just a layup machine like Wade...

Because Rondo and Rose hate each other, so like Highlander, there can be only one.

Plus, what does that have to do with the thread? Basketball IQ is just one part of evaluating a player.

mental note no pun .....ahahahhah

you know how much players hate each other and still play on the same team

(world team included)
hmmmmmm i believe if he was good enough or had the i.q to mole himself in he would of made it.

i always say rondo will be dangerous and a top 5 player if he gets a shot, j- kidd was a horrible shooter and look how much he improved himself.

put in work i've seen rose improve his shot , westbrook , carlos arroyo etc.. is he not smart enough to know if he develops a shot he would be untouchable ?

he's one of those smart dumb players

i don't see how Ray Allen or Pierce make this discussion. People mentioning those guys in this discussion need to drop the fanboysism. KG and Rondo? Sure. Both of those guys have very high bball IQ, but Ray Allen and Pierce do not. Try to think just a little objectively.

I think I'm gonna invent the 'KOBE' key for computer keyboards.

I can market it to the fanboys who can just automatically use it anytime there is a 'Who's the best....' or 'Who's the most...' thread.

I can probably also come up with a program that just automatically inserts 'KOBE' into the thread without even reading the thread. That would truly save time.

Smartest - KOBE.
Most respected - KOBE.
Best hair - KOBE.
Nicest car - KOBE.

Seriously, if Kobe was half as talented, smart, legendary, athletic, etc... as he is made out to be by some on this site, we wouldn't even call it basketball, it would be KOBE-ball.
