Why are there so many Toronto fans in here? Is there still resentment about not being able to unload Jose Caleron on the Bobcats? It's time to move on guys. As for DeMar vs. Henderson (which always seems to happen):

DeRozan was an 8.6 pts, 2.9 reb, 0.7 ast, and 0.6 stl player in his first FULL year.
Henderson is an 8.6 pts, 2.8 reb, 1.2 ast, 0.6 stl player in his first FULL year.

And Henderson's isn't truly a full season as he had to deal with LB for another 28 games and came off the bench for another 30 or so behind Jackson/Wallace. Even still, saying either one is going to be better, at least based on the basic numbers, is a homer. Neither one can shoot a three pointer to save their lives, both play good defense, and score in the same ways. There isn't anything to say one is going to be better than the other, at least in my eyes.

Yeah he really is an elite defender, but I excuse your ignorance because you haven't seen him play

I'd put him lower than that. They're both really good players. I'm not even calling Henderson an average player yet.

Ya, and if I was being serious like you are then I'd be ridiculous as well. Luckily, I know that Ed Davis isn't actually even close to winning ROY, I'm just showing my support.

You should disregard Stun704's comments, he's always making us Bobcats fan look like fools by madly overrating our players and being aggressive about it.

As for Henderson, he's a really promising player, he's already an excellent defender, and has been hitting important shots in the 4th. As some have already pointed out, he needs a 3pt range, his 3 game is almost non-existent, along with better handles.

We like to say he's a mini-Kobe because he has that same sort of killer mentality, but he'd have to break through his ceiling to ever approach the greatness that is Kobe as a player. But he'll be a great player for sure, borderline all-star seems about right.
So basically you say exactly the same thing that I said, yet i'm completely off base? Just because I don't care to articulate my posts in a politically correct way doesn't mean that i'm wrong.

Bottom line, people are obviously missing what the "ceiling" of a player is, the ceiling is the very BEST a player can get(Not what a player is likely to become). Hendo has a lot going for him, he already has an kobe-esque work ethic. For example right after the Indy game, he kept shooting the shots he missed in the practice gym just because he was so down on himself like kobe was after the heat game. He already is an very good to an elite defender, JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED HIM DEFEND doesn't make it false.. Not everyone is "KNOWN" and Hendo isn't "KNOWN" yet. Hendo has a closer menatliy already, he is essentially a red-shirtted rookie and has already won more then a handfull of games for us by himself. Hendo has all the intangiables, has the work ethic, and has the athetlcism, the flaws in his game can be worked on during the offseasons, such as a 3pt shot, handles and driving in the lane.. I don't see WHY he can't have ridiculous upside?

But I know why people think that this ridiculous talk, they listen to hollienger, and other ESPN big market whores, that say Bobcats have no future, well bobcats do, and I really do wish we make the playoffs just so we can showcase the talent we actually have.. We have a scrappy no-quit attitude that should really get more respect then they get on realgm.

I don't retract my statement, the sky is the limit for DJ, he just has confidence issues, and that is the result of his bad play at times.

Before this year, I always said Dahntay Jones or Raja Bell.

If he develops a long-range shot, he could hit the JRich tier of guards. Ultimate, fantasy best-case scenario if we're reaching for the sky? Monta Ellis Jr.

jrich is a 3pt shooter who has never been known for defense. henderson is known first and foremost for his defense and has made three 3pters all season. how are those two things similar?

henderson scouting report for those who are curious
stengths
- excellent defender, can guard 1s, 2s and 3s, but obviously best covering 2s.
- quick hands, active, moves feet on defense, gets his hands on a lot of deflections - but not really a high steals guy since he doesnt gamble much. more of an in your face, lock you down, stay in front of you type defender.
- high bball IQ. son of former NBA player. 3 years at Duke.
- extremely confident, but not in an arrogant way. he believes in his talents and is not afraid to step up to challenges, whether its taking a big shot or accepting the challenge of guarding the other team's best wing .
- has solid mid-range jumper out to college 3pt line - uses step back to get free for looks and has a nice stroke coming off baseline curls. can shoot off screens as well as shoot off dribble.
- fantastic athlete

weaknesses
- has little to no 3pt range
- ballhandling needs work, favors right hand too much
- doesnt get to free-throw line as much as someone with his athleticism should
- needs to work on finishing at the rim
- not really a player who creates for others
- inconsistent

based on what i have seen this season i think henderson's ceiling is somewhere around a very solid starter, 3rd option on a playoff team, defensive stopper. its possible his ceiling could rise if he develops a 3pt shot and works on his ballhandling. those are the two main areas keeping him from taking his game to the next level.

How can so many people agree to J. Rich but not think to mention Eric Gordon is a bit surprising to me.

I still see his ceiling as a poor man's Eric Gordon.

He's already 23 years old but he is a smart player. Gerald is a real good defender and never lacks effort. At best I see him as Mike Finley type of player. All-Star/Border line all star on a 50 win team.

Similarly a lot of people hate on Henderson and the Bobcats for no reason, like all these random Raptors fans. Henderson has been playing NBA basketball for 5 weeks and is already putting up good numbers to go along with excellent defense. If he was on the Lakers or Knicks right now, the general board would be flooded with Henderson is the next big thing threads. And don't get me started if he was a Raptor

I actually like this comparison, but as more of a team player and someone who can defend SGs. But I think both guys are great at driving but are a little rigid laterally

Ron Mercer.
Realistically, I can see him being similar to Andre Iguodala... with a little less handles.

What's the big rivalry between raptors and bobcats fans regarding Derozan and Henderson?

I remember the same debate being done about these two exact players a few months ago, so why, why these two players that are not anything out of the ordinary for an nba players, are being compared head-to-head?
