I don't think the Bobcats claimed Haywood to get them out of the bottom five. It's just a move to help them add size.

They still have the least talented team in the league so I think the tank will survive this one.

This puts Charlotte just above the Knicks for the eighth spot.

Solid pick up, always good to have decent big men signed to cheap contracts. Worst case, they can always flip him to a contender at the deadline for a late 1st.

Ha... Have you watched the last couple seasons? The Knicks then went and signed two guys that were both better players in 1996... They will sneak into the playoffs if they are lucky but you can bet your bottom dollar they won't win a single game. Just like ast year... And the year before. They're reaching a Dallas cowboy level of overratedness.

Haywood really isn't that bad of a center, Cuban just overpaid him after a contract year.

I also think Haywood is from nc and lives there in the offseason so maybe he'll give full effort every night in front of family and friends.

I'd be salty too if my team's summer league couldn't handle a basic press and my #5 overall pick did his best Tyrus Thomas impersonation

I look at what MJ did and it makes me realize even more how bad Ernie Grunfeld is as a GM.

My Wizards do not look anywhere near as good as Charlotte now.

This is a great signing.

Haywood can sill ball and offer a great vet presence to an extremely young team.

We will still finish next season in the bottom four imo and have a great chance to land another elite prospect.

@Chocolate City Jordanaire, interesting that you compare our situations..How would you rank the rebuilding teams??

I really like what the Wiz are doing aside from the obvious mistakes Grunfeld has made.

I dunno if I like this so much. I mean, obviously, good signing. If you can get a solid big for cheap you have to do it, but does his contract still run through 2015 since they claimed him off waivers (even if it is cheap)? That, and I kind of was under the impression that at least one more tank season for a top 3 pick would've been better for them in the long run. O well, good signing, but not so sure how it will work out in the long run.

Haywood will add plenty of tanking abilities....he wont be motivated and he wasn't very good to begin with
