Agreed. He's nowhere near as polished as Gasol offensively when Gasol was a rookie...

Quit hyping this guy up. Damn pathetic the way people are hyping him more than the entire rookie class.

It will be interesting to see who will be the better player out of these 4....

-Valanciunas

-Tristan Thompson

-Enes Kanter

-Kenneth Faried

I think Kanter will end up being the best, his strength and size with the combination of his gifted footwork will be hard to beat.

Hmm a lot of green font potential here

Yeah, Toronto's Colangelo got a gift from the Cavs on that one. But then in 2012 Colangelo passed on Drummond when he dropped to #8 and picked Terrence Ross instead in a pick that's as surprising as Tristan.

lol, pathetic? Please do me a favor and compare him to ANY big in the same rookie class last year, i'll guarantee you he'll beat out every rookie big man. It isn't hype, it's a fact. Im sure you haven't seen a guy like JV since Gasol.

I really don't understand the Gasol comparisons. Just because he's from Eurpoe doesn't mean he plays anything like Gasol. He's more like Noah than Gasol. JV was not some gold standard prospect. He is a very good one, but he's no Howard, LBJ or even Kyrie Irving. He's more Bogut than Gasol.

I agree that he is indeed a very good prospect and nothing like those 3 you stated. But comparing to the draft last year, out of all the big men in that class, JV stands out. He has the tools to eventually become a poor-mans Gasol, but i wouldnt mind a noah/gasol combo.

I'm not really a raptors fan, but watched a couple of pre season games to see how JV would go. Anyone saying he's not going to be a star is kidding themselves. He's not going to be like Pau, his body shape is completely different, this guy will be huge in 3 or 4 years. He's very aggressive and has more of a winning attitude then Pau, something the raptors desperately need. If he can get a good couple of seasons under his belt without any interruptions, he'll turn out just nicely for the raptors.

Since the guy has a history of trolling the Raptors fanbase, I'd say so. He even comes on our board once in a while to troll.

rite now he moves well and plays hard...hes a tad over 7 feet and 7'4 wingspan, in 5 years when hes physically mature, 10-20 pound heavier and stronger cus he has a solid frame, and has developed some skill i think hes gonna be a beast...wont have pau like talent but maybe a similar to or slightly better noah/bogut is his ceiling

offensively he's already better than noah/bogut .... maybe defensively he is noah like, with better size, but offensively he's much better, and will only get better with time

Agreed. But I think Jonas has a better chance to reach his potential.

This Yuri Vaultin guy sure takes his "job" to heart.

Indeed. This mod should be stripped of his powers.

Why don't u guys relax. Just accept that Jonas is a true franchise all star already. (Just look at his preseason numbers and tell me otherwise, not to mention the kid has been beasting it in the euroleague since he was in diapers). Maybe the reason why he got suspended is cause he blatantly refuses to accept that. I'm not being sarcastic either. On a board full of raptors fans, this becomes our board; so get with the popular opinion or get out.

What is with the Pau comparisons? He isn't nearly as skilled as Pau, but has a much better motor. Most of his offense that i've seen has been hustle type stuff.

He'll be a very good player, but i'm not sure about "star".
