Don't see anything wrong with "Pelicans" looking at this list.

Pels for short. I don't mind it.

DONT like that they're doing a red/blue/gold color scheme. Everyone does red/blue. The current color scheme is great.

the rougarou is awesome but i can see how that mascot might be a little scary and too much for the young fans so by default i think swamp dogs combine toughness with fan friendlyness

Swamp Dogs and Bullsharks sound like minor league Hockey and Baseball teams.

Rougarou is just too weird...nobody outside of Louisiana knows what that means.

They definitely should have gone with Angels, Krewe, Spirit, etc..These are all just horrible. Whoever is consulting Benson on the name change should be fired.

I like Pelicans better.

The red, blue, & yellow colorway is a good decision, too. It represents New Orleans while also having the potential to look patriotic on the jerseys. Reminds me of the Jordan Olympic 7s as well as being Superman's costume colors.

New names always get made fun of and nitpicked to death. Whether it's Brass, Pelicans or Swamp Dogs somebody out there will have a problem with it. Eventually after everyone gets used to it it'll be just like any other team name.

I agree with the guy who said new team names always sound bad.

If the Lakers were a newly proposed name and purple/yellow a new color scheme people would be like, "Eww wtf gay gay gay".

Same thing with products and company names sometimes. "Wii", "iPad", "Yahoo!" Etc all sounded weird at first, but then people started to get used to it and didn't really have any complaints anymore.
