Did Michael Jordan use PEDs?

You think these guys can go this hard in an 82-game season, daily practices and playoffs without some sort of help? Ever wonder how these guys recover so damn fast after major knee surgeries? Combine that with the fact these guys' livelihoods depend on whether they can stay healthy and the fact that the NBA has never had very strict rules on doping?

Honestly, I understand both sides of this argument.

Jordan never showed any crazy transformation that would tip us off that he was using PEDs. He also never had a really sharp drop-off in skills. Even with the Wiz he was still a pretty good scorer for his age. He seemed to age normally.

On the other hand, it is now known that PEDs were heavily used in many sports at the time. Those that watched Jordan in his prime (especially as kids) probably never even dreamed that MJ was taking something because we were 'innocent'. Now, looking back, it's not hard to imagine the possibility.

Now, what defines a PED is the big thing. Some dudes did coke, some guys did 'roids, some HGH or something similar, some probably took painkillers, some took ephedrine. Who knows. He could have been using something that would be considered a PED now, but back then they thought it was as normal as popping some aspirin.

what it is, is that these young guys on here that never seen him play live get UPSET that he's considered so head and shoulders above players of today (lebron, durant) and they just dont get it....

they want their generation to be the best but the fact is MJ and his legacy kills their hope of any NBA player in the league today ever being consider greater....

Kind of pathetic, but I kind of feel where they are coming from... because I was a jordan hater (when he came back from baseball) and he was taking the shine of my fav players at the time (penny, shaq, kemp, hill)...well, I didnt hate him, it was his fans I hated.

Its pretty much the same thing for these young cats...

lol at all of this. I saw most of Jordan's prime and I would be surprised if he didn't use. I would be surprised if my all-time favorite Ewing didn't try something. I'm suspicious of my current favorite player TD. The people who think Jordan used are generally the people who think today's players use. It has nothing to do with jealousy but rather we recognize that there are many PEDs that help players professionally, every other major sport by the 70s had been hit by a PED scandal and the NBA has lax testing.

exactly. I don't know anything about cycling but I do know this. Every person who finished 2nd to Armstrong in the race has been proven to use PEDs. He was the best cycler of his era.

according to usada, lance armstrong had inside knowledge of when the testing would occur and how the testing would be done ahead of time. lance paid $125,000 to uci which looks suspicious. he may have bribed officials to get drug advantages not available to the 200 other riders in the tour de france. he has millions of dollars at his disposal and connections. also he may have had a genetic advantage in which his body responded to drugs at a heightened level above average.

remember, just a 1% improvement in performance can mean the difference in a 90-hour race over 3 weeks.

Well I don't know (or care) if he used them while playing basketball but if he used them while playing baseball, that proves PED's aint making anyone play better.

If you suspect MJ of doing PED's w/o any proof you have to suspect every great NBA player of doing them, hence nobody had an advantage.

But in all honesty if MJ ever did some sort of HGH or Steroids he would have been even more dominant. Probably could have made his body into that of a power forwards and played until he was in his mid 40's. why not right.
