Bullcrap. The Mavs beat the Heat like 12 straight times before the finals, they were a terrible matchup for the Heat, and making Lebron give the ball up was designed. His efficiency was high, the Mavs just chose to make him a distributor with agressive doubling. When you double Lebron, you know he's gonna find the open man, and the Mavs chose to live with that. Also, that Mavs team started out the season with an 18-4, or 20-4 record (not sure at the moment), but what was really telling, they were annihilating playoff teams. Then injuries happened, but once everyone was healthy again, they were rolling march. Had a 23 games stretch, where they won 20 games, and lost the other 3 by a combined 4 points, leading in all 3 games in the last minute of regulation. So again, the writings were on the wall, great team, not overrated at all.

Exactly. I'm tired of people revising history and claiming the Heat were a better team and Mavs played out of their minds to win. Dallas was just as good if not better throughout the entire season that year.

Back on topic: This should've been posted 3 months ago. OP would still be wrong, but would be less embarrassingly so.

Knicks aren't contenders.

They are in the tier with Brooklyn, Indiana, Chicago, Denver, Memphis.

SAS, Miami, OKC and to a lesser extent Clippers are the only title contending teams.

while i don't agree with the OP, the knicks depth is not thomas wallace camby white...those are end of the bench players. well wallace when healthy can give a sold 15 minutes. their depth come playoff time will be kidd, jr, novak, amare, kmart

NYK isn't on Indy's level they are in the same tier as BK, Hawks and Bucks imo

COLE and BATTIER would of helped in with battle against Mav. Lebron went from guarding ROSE then running like a chicken guarding TERRY. Brea would been tremendous slowed down by COLE where he was torching BIBBY and RIO. Battier would if take a load off bron helping him on the Perimeter. Heat staff learned a lot from that Series.

NYK will be lucky to make it out of the first round. They are very poor defensively, with too many one dimensional players that do not produce a net positive impact on the team on both ends.

It's possible, lots of vets that could make the PS hell for opposing teams
Long as they stay healthy and hit their threes the defense will come in seven game series
Youthful teams in the regular season could run them down

I'm just saying the heat didn't destroy everybody. Nobody gives Boston credit for pushing Miami to 7 and late into the 4th. Ugh not to mention we had multiples guys out. Having this year's Jeff Green woulda been huge and Avery Bradley. Heat are not unstoppable. Favorites? Definitely.[/quote]

Celtics got a lot of respect, most people had them as the 2nd best team in the East going in to the season. Util they stinked it up. Also with your reasoning, how come no one talks about the Sixers then. They took the Celtics to 7 games as well.

They also get mad really easily.

Every time I watch the Knicks get blown out or see them losing by a lot, this team starts getting butthurt and playing dirty. Most of that comes from Tyson Chandler though, he is always the one starting something when his team loses.

Off of the top of my head, these are the things he has done, illegal screen on Lebron in 2012 playoffs, elbowing Omar Asik in the throat, flagrant foul on Jeremy Lin, starting a fight with Joakim Noah, and I'm sure there is more.

This Knicks team is mentally weak.

Kidd is not depth. He is a starter. If kidd is moved to the bench by playoffs time then who will take his place? Amare ? Jr? Then one of them is not part of the depth.

See? :D

Seriously, on topic, the major difference between that Dallas team and this Knicks team is their leader: Dirk vs. Melo. Does the latter command the same respect as a leader with the former? Playoff time, Melo will be needed to step-up his offense too, he's capable but can he duplicate Nowitzki's consistent output during thier championship run?

Credit to Melo, looks like he's started to mature this year (save for the bus incident with KG) so really if can act as a true leader for this squad...

jason terry had a huge playoffs too. can amare? j.r.? felton? 'cause at least one of those guys will have to be big in addition to melo playing his best basketball. tall order

I like where he said shumpert = wade. lol

It's pretty amusing that Knicks fans think Lebron & Melo are equals. I get it this one more than Shumpert & Wade but cmn guys.

Also Felton is not 50 times better than Chalmers.
