Yup I just tested it out. You can either go by a game score box OR just click a players name and go to their game log and just see all their vids.

I just checked LeBron's hits from the Magic game and even when he hit the game winner, they recorded him doing his stomping move.

The vids just don't cut off or something after they hit a shot. Gives for a nice feel of what has been happening in the game.

They also have ALL of last year, including the playoffs and Finals!

Not a problem is it, it's a free service that costs a lot of money, has to be paid for somehow!

How does it cost a lot of money? NBA have the video already, they could have a couple hundred high schoolers getting the video clips done for $8 an hour for all we know. You definitely don't need to be an engineer to do it.

Great move by the NBA.

Wow really! If you think that it will be cheap you don't quite understand the cost of hardware/bandwidth involved.

Again, the video is already being stored somewhere because the NBA has been keeping all games for a while now. All they have to do is cut the part they need at runtime and stream it, which wouldn't require any extra hardware. I doubt they are creating a whole new clip each time and storing it separately, and if they are is because their storage is probably cheaper than you think.

This is especially great because i don't have to watch Raptors games anywhere to see how Jonas did. Of course i'm half-kidding, but still, this is incredible, well done NBA.com.

Not really - Basketball-Reerence is still much more user friendly than NBA.com (+ NBA.com has one major flaw in their possessions based stats, so ORtg and DRtg stats from NBA.com are useless) and Synergy has data NBA.com doesn't have (postu-up plays, isolations and so on).

But it all is going in good direction, so good job NBA.com!

stats.nba.com has had that since last season

http://stats.nba.com/playerStats.html?P ... ode=Totals

i have been trying to figure this out for a while... how do you get to this page for a specific player? step by step. this site is not user friendly yet. i just keep going in circles.

It took me awhile to figure out too, but it's pretty simple once you find it. Go to "stats.nba.com" and you'll see basically two ribbons at the top of the page--- a blue banner that has the NBA logo and a number of links to "blogs," "teams" "players" etc.

Below that is another black ribbon, the leftmost tab is "stats home" and then down the line you have scores, official leaders, etc. There is a "players" link on that ribbon, if you click it, it will take you to an alphabetical database of players, and click the name you want.

If this isn't clear I can get a screengrab for you but I'd rather not deal with that if I don't have to ;)

edit: to get to shot types, click a player's name. Under his photo will be a black button that says "profile" and directly below that will be a pulldown menu that says "general splits." Click on the pull down menu and select "shooting" and it will open up the page where you can see breakdowns by shot type, shot distance, etc.

NBA.com doing a bunch of great things this year, with the analytic stats, and now this. I wonder if this will always be free....Might eventually be a paid service. "NBA.com Premium"

The stats site is very slow and the layout is obnoxious. They need to rework this.

This is great news!

My daily search will be:
Ricky Rubio assists
Anthony Davis blocks
Stephen Curry threes

Sick

Maybe Michael Carter Williams steals also
