Some players use hair gel, right? What if a player grew really long hair and used a **** load of hair gel to make it stand up and act as a device to help block shots?

You don't even need to grow your hair, just wear a wig.

Well the reason a wig might be illegal is because it isn't part of your body. Now the league would presumably say that hair isn't technically part of the body either or something, but at least there's an argument to be made.

Then you bring out ADVANCED Wall of Hands.

Just like Wall of Hands, but two of the players stand on the shoulders of the other three, making lobs impossible.

Brilliant.

Not bad.

I'm concerned that the middle defenders are leaving the 5-hole open. Someone like a Rubio can put a bounce pass right through the legs.

You may need to have some fatter defenders - thicker legs could create less passing lanes. Shaq and Pekovic would be better choices for the center of the wall of hands than Tyson Chandler, for example.

Better to have 4 defenders harassing the inbound and have one guy farther behind to intercept the pass.

nice bump! i thought up something similar in the past. put two 7 footers on the inbounder to harass him and have the other 3 guys play zone. safer and similarly effecitve

snomeister wrote:In all seriousness though I thought of a similar idea before but on offence. You get four players to stand around in a ring around the player who has the ball and just protect him from defenders until he gets closer to the basket and makes an easy layup.

I'm actually curious to see if this would be effective for a game before the league banned it.

It would probably be considered a moving screen. With that said, I like the idea and have a similar variant which may not be illegal. In end of game situations, when a team is in the lead and has possession, the defending team usually attempts to intentionally foul the ball handler to stop the clock. Now, what if the other 4 players (on the team in the lead) quickly surround the player with the ball so that the defenders can't reach him? If they foul one of the surrounding players, it's 2 shots from the line and another possession. If executed correctly, this leaves the defending team no chance to get possession back. Game over.
