But they won't. Chelsea will.

Stop being delusional :D I like Arsenal the most in the Premiership but I gotta admit that it'd be nice if L'Pool breaks their curse.

Where is that passion in the NBA? The only time i've seen it was when Dirk won the title in 2011. I dont see it from American players.

Because many idiots laugh at them, that's why.
That's why you see towels over their faces or they only cry in the lockerroom.

A couple of years ago Bosh cried after a tough loss and tons of idiots started making fun of him, instead of appreciating the fact that he cared even about a regular season game. Same idiots who are otherwise probably complaining about lack of passion from the players. Same idiots who'd be crying like little babies if they had to go through 20% of the training regimen these athletes go through. Hell, they'd probably be unable to climb 3 flights of stairs without stopping 20 min for a break.

First, you see men hugging all the time without being called gay or crying without being called "p****" (male Americans, athletes, actors, politicians, etc, cry in public ALL THE TIME, this thread is so mind-boggling stupid it should have been closed on the spot) .

Second, you're also flat out lying about Spain. Only a tiny faction of Spanish beaches are nude beaches. Nudity isn't illegal anywhere in Spain, but beaches on which nudism is effectively practised are, I don't know, maybe 1% of the total and walking around naked in normal public places is socially shunned.

Third, Spain is BY FAR a more misogynistic country than the US and one where there's a much larger and more influential "cult of virility". It's not even close.

What's up with some American kids nowadays trying to pretend they live in some crazy mid-east theocracy and in some super backward society (a variation is "I was born in the US and omg it's worse than Iran, I suffered so much)? It's amazing the number of posts like this one can find regularly on the internet. Is it a trend? Do they actually expect anyone to believe in that stuff? Do they believe in it themselves and it's simply a case of delusional people wanting to spread their illusions?

Americans are extremists and have become increasingly polarized since the 60s.

It's either, "American is the most perfect country ever"

Or "OMG, America is so horrible, men can't cry in public and women have to make sandwiches for abusive husbands, and Black people can't look White people in the eye, I wanna go to Europe where everyone is happy and have health insurance."

It's like that one week escorted stay in Germany during college reveals how superior Germany is to America because Germans eat sausages not only for breakfast and they have Rhine-capitalism.

The "OMG, America is so horrible" crowd seems to think everywhere in America besides strongholds of Modern American Liberalism like California and New York City are the most disastrous places on Earth for any human and somehow Fox News represents the dark soul of the USA that seeks to destroy all things holy and sacred in secular society.

Nobody should take anything Americans say about the USA seriously, everybody is deranged here and in a down-is-up-right-is-left world similar to Wonderland. I don't understand it, nobody understands it, and nobody should want to understand it.

Soccer and basketball are my two favourite sports in the world. But one thing soccer has over western sports is the passion of the fans. Nobody has to play music or have an announcer speak in an exaggerated voice over the PA system to get the crowd involved. You'll hear fans singing songs that are unique to their team, not just "Go <insert team name>, go!"

Its simple, in football (soccer) theres is a membership sense. A lot a players identify himself with a color, with a club, with a team. Since they are children, they follow a team with high passion and fidelity. They love their team.
In NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL the fans are just fans. They pick their team by a geographic reason. They like, they support, but they dont love with heart strenght.

this is a premier league game and there is no playoffs. This game's importance to Gerrard is more like winning game 4 of the nba finals.

I'm not an "american kid", I was born in Europe. The cultures are different, Europeans are far more liberal sexually and emotionally than Americans are. For the record, I love America and wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the world - just making an observation.

Everything else you said is your opinion. And just because you used the phrase 'cult of virility', doesn't make it right. http://www.gadling.com/2011/04/24/top-20-least-sexist-countries-in-the-world/

Lastly, chill out dude. It's not worth the ulcer

Learn your history before making macho statements like this. That Liverpool game was a commemoration game.

Honestly, if you don't know what happened 25 years ago and if you don't know a **** about the Hillsborough/Heizel disasters and how they weigh on the Liverpool football fan psyche, get the **** out and share your revered opinion in threads you do know something about.

I know my history of soccer and the Hillsborough incident. Gerrard didn't cry at past 'commemoration' games. Ironically this time he did when they just happen to beat their closet rival to the title.

And players don't cry after winning game 4 of the finals unless it is a sweep and that wouldn't be an appropriate analogy to use then in this situation.

Gerrard cried because they beat their closet rival to the title and it put them in pole position for the title. Nothing more.

Gerrard has played with Liverpool almost 20 years and he is about to win the league for the first time as a captain...He has every other accolade...Basically this is like Ray Borque winning a stanley cup with the Colorado Avalanche and the impact it had. Now just imagine those Avs were his original Boston Bruins team

I'm a long suffering West Ham United fan... the only people that cry in this situation are the fans.

Of course.
I am secure enough on my sexuality to not feel the need to act macho or repress my thoughts and instincts.
I can look at another man and say "damn, he looks good" without feeling the need to add "no homo".
Probably because I don't secretly wish to suck that guy's dick.
And if I did, I hope I wouldn't be ashamed of it.

Or did I misunderstood your message and you were asking me if I am feeling ok because you wanted to cuddle with me ?
