It has nothing to do with how good or bad anyone is or any other scenario. Putting another player from another franchise in your jersey while you are still on that team is straight up disrespectful & makes the Houston franchise look like a bunch of a-holes.

Exactly. If this was Robert Covington's number, he would have the right to feel disrespected, and I think some of the people attacking Lin right now would either be silent or even support him.

Regardless of his play on the court you have numbers 1 through 100 why the heck are you gunna use the number of a player still on your team for a guy that might or might not come.

I've told people I know that this is the hardest Rockets organization or "Rockets culture" for me to root for in the 30 years or so I've been a fan. Someone the other day told me I was being "spoiled" when talking about Morey, because of what Morey has done (in a positive sense).

This (the topic of this thread) is the type of thing that has me down on the organization. And this is not an outlier, IMO.

It's sad. Things don't have to be done this way. But they are done this way. And that is why people become alienated, IMO.

I've been a fan for less than 10 years, but this makes no sense to me. Was it more fun to root for the coked up Rockets who wasted years of Hakeem's genius? Was it more fun to root for that moron Steve Francis who could never play winning basketball? Was it more fun with "Somebody tell Kelvin Cato we want our money back?", or all the horrible moves Carrol Dawson did as the manager of the Rockets?

Hopefully Lin realizes that he's just not as good as the whole Linsanity hype made him out to be. He's a replaceable piece in the grand scheme of things.

When you come into a workplace there is a certain type of courtesy extended to you because you are now amongst a cohesive unit working towards helping the business...you don't go disrespecting one of your employee's to entice another fellow applicant

And that same action for beverley is wrong too, i guess he just deals with it better...but regardless you want to promote an environment where everyone takes care of each other...it builds chemistry, and keeps people happy...and when ppl aren't happy thats when ish gets wild, so why go through all this trouble when you could've simply used another number?

Most chinese (and asian people for that matter), you never hear them b*tching and complaining about it all the time. That's what makes it even sadder IMO. They just put up with life and make the best with what they have and move on.


BTW I would absolutely LOVE to have Lin on the Hornets! Perfect attitude and demeanor. Great for the team in more ways than on the court.
