21.6 PTS (54.8%, 60.8 TS%), 7.8 TRB, 3.0 AST, 1.6 STL, 1.4 BLK in 36.2 minutes. 90 DRtg.

Seems to be being utilised a lot more offensively, though the percentages and volumes are likely not sustainable, I don't see 17 points on 55% TS% being unrealistic.

Memphis are, unsurprisingly, 1st in Opp/ppg and 2nd in overall defensive rating.

They did have close to a 70% winning percentage with Marc last season (if healthy, they'd project at 56 wins - 4th in the West)

Now, he probably won't win MVP but if Memphis did finish top (it's not unfeasible they pass LAC and SAS, and OKC are pretty much doomed) thanks to improvements from Conley, Courtney Lee and their bench, who knows?

If we are saying Marc with those numbers, how are we not saying Pau? He is putting up the similar numbers, better in some places worse in others.

18.8 ppg (49.8%, 55.5TS%), 10.6 TRB, 1.6 AST, 0.2 STL, 2.6 BLK in 35.7 minutes. 97.6 DRtg, 102.8 ORtg.

Marc has been slightly better offensively, Pau is rebounding and blocking better. Pau is on a new team too, and should only be getting better.

If you include Marc in the MVP race, you have to include Pau.

As Krodis said, Marc is a DPOY level player, Pau is very much average defensively these days (though admittedly Thib's system may help him).

I'd also throw in Dwight into discussions if Houston keep up their form. He's clearly their best player IMO.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

I could see Bosh being up there in votes if Miami finishes strong and he maintains his play. Took a few years off as the main option but he hasn't lost a step.

He was forced to be the first option, and he wasn't very fit physically. Gained too much weight over the off-season because the coaching staff wanted him to play the 4 :nonono: now, he's the second option behind the beast known as Boogie and he's thriving.

Rudy would have been a great #2 behind Lowry if he were in shape to play 3 and we didn't prefer DeMar (Also contract reasons and stuff)

Jimmy Butler with 23pts, 7rbs, and 5ast, on 53% shooting. 1blk and 1stl too. Had great defense all night.

According to your logic, Tim Duncan doesn't deserve any respect.

Curry winning it would be awesome. He is so much fun to watch and such a normal player athletically wise. He is the most skilled player in the NBA hands down to me. If you shrunk everyone down to Curry's size would they be as good as Curry. LeBron, Durant, AD, Carmelo. They are all better players, but if you were to shrink them down to Curry's size they wouldn't even be in the NBA I bet. Maybe. A lot of their game is dictated by their size.

I guess that's just the jealousy of a 27 year old 5'10 washed up white guard speaking. I'd give anything to have Bron's body for 1 day. I would just go play pick up all day to see all the crazy crap I could do.

Anyways long, bitter way of saying I'd love to see Curry win. He is my favorite player to watch.
The hero Orlando deserves is out there somewhere, Dwight was not the one we needed. So we will hunt for him...

Doesn't matter - he's solved the game of basketball. By driving wildly and throwing himself to the ground, he gets enough free throws that he's guaranteed a TS% above 60% - he;s better than Cousins, Davis or Curry AND Bosh this year, despite having a FG% of only 41%. He's guaranteed to be one of the most efficient and valuable scorers in the game, even when his two-pointers aren't falling.

Steph is firmly in the discussion despite not shooting very Curry-like to this point. If he continues doing the rest of what he is doing at this level and then starts shooting his normal % on jumpers, good game league.
