Len is a beast, he has more potentially offensively than Gobert for sure, but Gobert has an insane defensive ceiling. I do think Whiteside deserves a mention. He isn't as young as most, but if he can keep his head on straight and cut down the fouls, he's right there with Rudy (although, because I am biased I'd give Rudy the slight edge because of age and Rudy's a little longer). I wanted the Jazz to draft Hassan but he was a terrible interview. I'm rooting for him because he has always had insane potential, and I'm a sucker for giving people second chances.

Then maybe call the thread "Third best young center poll".
4th. How did nobody mention Cousins?

Too obvious.

If Drummond was left out, then Val should have been too. Both are about equally good, they just have different aspects they excel at.....

That said, Val, Len, Gobert, Adams of the options listed

Considering Mozgov is 28, I vote Jordan Hill(27).

I think Gobert is making the most impact as is. I havent seen as much of the others, but Gobert is 22 , he has tons of experience, and it shows in his maturity. But he also has unheard of size, yet has agility of a cat. I've never seen a 7 footer who could move like him.

^Its important to clarify the age of players who have in season birthdays.

Dieng 24-25
Plumlee 24-25
T Zeller 24-25
Olynyk 23-24
Jonas 22-23
Kanter 22-23
Leonard 22-23
Embiid 20-21
Noel 20-21

Edit: its also noteworthy that some of guys like Dieng and Biyombo haven't been playing organized basketball as long as others in their age group and could make larger strides than typically expected for their age/class.

That is basically why I chose Len ahead of Gobert. He is a year older and has more experience than Len. He also hasn't improved nearly as much since the start of this season as Len and I don't think he has the offensive ceiling Len has.

Gobert is showing some nice stuff, but I doubt he reaches anything spectacular. He's pretty slow and doesn't seem like a type to want to dominate opponents.

Gobert was playing at the same level in pre-season. I saw every game he played in.

Most Raptors fans don't even like Valaciunas on their forums, he shouldn't be top 5.

Len has a better future than Valaciunas imo. Much, much better future.

You're nuts then. Gobert has blown up in the last few months. Doesn't mean he wins this, but his development this season has been exceptional. No question.

If Nerlens Noel could stay healthy I see him as frontrunner... He has the best skill set imo

The season is only 2-3 months old. Did you watch pre-season? He was awesome. He really blossomed this summer at the WC's. Len looks much better now than he did a month ago.

Not a big difference anyway. I love both of them. I'm super excited about all the great new C's in the league. Just a year or so there were posts about how the league had no good C's any more.

Yes, I watch preseason, which is why I know preseason means jack. Anyway, if you really think Rudy is the same player as he was in preseason, you would be incorrect.
