Lawsons value, despite the duis, is greater than Jennings, who might not be on the court for a while, now. Doesnt make sense for the Nuggets to get a player who you hope will play good enough by the trade deadline to create value for a player who already has that value.

Except it's not. If Lawson had the value you think he does, he wouldn't be on the Nuggets anymore. There's a reason why news stories about potentially releasing him are coming out.

If Lawson didnt have any value, he wouldnt be on the Nuggets either. We'll see how this plays out. I think the potential release reports were a cleansing reaction by the organization.

I also think if Jennings had value, Detroit wouldve traded him and wouldve been part of the team makeover. Speculation on my part.

How does that make you better than the Lin, Gallo, and Wil fans who root for them over NY?

i get what you mean but i think both their value isnt much right now, and while Jennings as a player may not be worth much, his exp contract still has value to teams like DEN looking to dump salary of a problem player.

Detroit makes sense if they can move Jennings in return, but I don't see that being what Denver is looking for.

Lakers don't really make sense because he'll probably stunt the development of their young guards, and I don't know that he'll mesh well with Kobe.

Brooklyn needs a PG but doesn't have much of anything to offer, unless Joe Johnson's contract is appealing and Denver has some salaries that it wants to dump.

Milwaukee could use an upgrade at starting PG, but I don't know that Lawson fits what they want to do. He might, though, and maybe Lawson for MCW and OJ Mayo (expiring) works on trade checker. But is that really worthwhile for Denver?

Utah makes the most sense of teams that might be willing to give up something for Lawson - they really need a starting level PG. Burke and Burks combined would work, but I have a feeling Utah wants to keep Burks - although maybe Exum - if they believe in him - and Hood allow them to take the loss.

Detroit has Meeks too. I know the name isn't that sexy, but he's better than any 2 guard they have right now (at this time). Jennings and Meeks if we were trying would be my bet.

For the record too.. Jennings went from being hated to a fan favorite. He's always going to be a little wild, but he's turned the corner in my opinion.

Lawson is toxic right now, heck he hasn't even had his court date and sentencing for his DUI (3rd if you believe the rumors that he had one in Missouri as he told officers in January). As much as Denver may want him away from the team, and away from Mudiay you gotta think that it would be better for him and the organization to wait it out until mid-season and increase his stock even a little bit. I honestly don't know what you get for him now besides expiring contracts, maybe a half a season of rehabbing his image can at least get you a young talent or a mid-late first as well.

Waiving seems like a bad idea. Nuggets still owe Lawson the full amount and we gain no cap space.

Not moving him so far doesn't mean his value is less than Jennings. Flawed logic.

None of these teams have a lottery pick to offer so I doubt the Nuggets would be interested in doing business with them.

I'd love for the Lakers to be interested as a 3rd team and Nick Young be including. Maybe...

Lakers get Trevor Ariza
Rockets get Ty Lawson
Nuggets get Nick Young, Ryan Kelly, and Nick Johnson

I'm not sure the market for Lawson is but I'd hope for a steal like this if possible

When you hear about player like igudola and Harrison Barnes never drinking a drop of alcohol in their lives...

It sounds weird

Then stories like this... And it sounds great!

So long as you have the Rockets bidding against other teams you should be able to get expiring contracts and a young big at a minimum. Either Capela, Jones or Montejunias.

How else can the Rockets acquire him ? The Rockets just signed Brewer to a similar contract and can't be traded so that leaves

Papa, Prig, and Capela ? Maybe
I don't see Jones or Montejunas

Nuggets have Chandler and Gallo so adding Ariza and his 3 years 8m may be not of interest
