Just give us the facts guys!

I'm not even a Russell fan and I think he will be a huge bust... but he DID give you the facts- he clearly said that he started 1-7 and finished 5-9. Is that too much math? lol that is basically the stat that you said in your post......

Start watching games bruh.

(1 + 5) / (7 + 9) = 6 / 16 = 37.5%

6 / 18 = 33.3%

It's totally not a big deal. I just added context to what was originally presented. Russell is a fine young player. But the original post didn't include a handful of details, that I filled in.

Well since we're getting stupid technical. He actually started 1 for 8 not 1 for 7. First half was 2/11 for 4 points. 2nd Half it was 4 for 7 for 12 points.

Was playing well on both ends, until the 4th quarter. Jah's been pretty good on defense at the PF position. Doesn't seem to be having trouble chasing 4s like Milsap.

Kevin Love is second, but Towns is probably already the third, haha. I could see an argument for Sam Cassell as well, but that is it.

Right now KAT isn't better than Timberwolves' Love, but I'm pretty sure he will be next season.

Kevin Love simply was the better player, Towns will likely overtake him mext season, but Love deserves to be recognized for what he did while here.

Exactly. Who cares about a per minute basis when Jokic is at 20 mpg? Porzingis is at 36th and he actually plays.

What did Kevin Love do that mattered?

He averaged over 26 points (on good percentages) and 12.5 rebounds twice, one of the times averaging 4 assists as well. In addition, in his third season, he averaged 20 points and 15 rebounds while shooting over 41% from behind the arc!

Our team around him sucked, but he was nothing short of phenomenal in his time here.

Russell was a +14 (highest on the team) and actually shot a better percentage than the team.

Hilliard in Detroit continues to get a lot of minutes and is scoring and playing quite well. He's ambidextrous (which is an underrated skill in this league), is showing a lot of intelligent offensive BB IQ, fine handle, smart cuts without the ball, and the ability to hit shots from all over the floor. He's presenting the Pistons an intriguing option this season and for future seasons.

The team really likes KCP. SJ is showing true 2 position versatility, and I believe will even play some PF and PG in future years. Morris is playing SF, wants to play PF also - but Van Gundy has said that his nine best players include Tolliver and Ilyasova, and until KCP's injury wasn't giving Hilliard much run.

KCP isn't much of a facilitator, but SJ and Hilliard definitely are and both these guys should turn out to be very good 3 pt shooters. I believe KCP will also become a top two-way SG. Morris is a facilitator at times, and at other times is the Pistons best isolation player and the ball stops with him.

Tolliver is on an expiring contract, Ilyasova has a team option for next season at a reasonable 8.5 million salary. If Hilliard develops well over the summer (not every young player does that after his rookie season, but many do), and assuming that SJ does (as that's his reputation), it'll be fascinating to see how SVG structures his team. Perhaps there'll be a trade. The team has about $30 million in cap space. But Hilliard is wedging himself into strong consideration for a serious rotation role, and he brings talents the team can really use surrounding the main PNR action between the team's two current stars, Jackson and Drummond.

This is a team to note. Young stars all over the court, growing up together. They could be a lot better as early as next season.
