the league deserves this for their stupidity

The league isn't a person lol. It's 30 teams all vying for top contention somewhere down the line. Teams aren't going to be throwing down $70 million dollars just to try messing with Durant's chances of landing in GS.

OKC's not going to be calling up Philly and going "hey bro, u up? can you do me a favor ill owe u big time." Teams are also not all sitting around a conference table in a dark room together conspiring to stop GS, ala some Presidential danger room type deal.

And yeah even if a team throws a contract at Barnes and Ezeli because they want those players Ws won't be dealing with that until later. They would easily be able to move Barnes or Bogut when the time comes anyway.

If the decision is about creating the best opportunity to win multiple championships, there's simply no other option.

No income tax in Texas or Florida. Now that the Heat are officially out it has to be San Antonio (or back to OKC).

Or maybe money isn't the number one factor in his decision?

The Warriors were perceived as the "villain" of the NBA this year for some reason. Everywhere I went, I saw massive hate against them and an enormous amount of people cheering on the Cavs just to beat them. I think a lot of the hate came because of Draymond Green during the OKC series. And then Klay talking a lot smack during the Cavs series just added fuel to the fire.

If KD joins the Warriors this year, you can bet on a enormous amount of hate against them. Lerbon will be titled the "The Choosen One" to end their season

How many time have you refreshed this thread? OKC, Spur, Celtic, Heat, Dubs and NBA fans are on the edge of their seats.

I think Horford not going to OKC may have really hurt them. II think if he had gone there KD would have resigned, I still think he may resign with OKC but he may look at is as OKC is the best they can get and they aren't improving and GSW is a more likely championship.

I say he was going to stay at OKC all along -- at least for one year anyway. He's got the sportsworld waiting with baited breath for his decision, after having his every move reported on for the last few days. He's got to be enjoying the attention. And I do think that the way this is being done is at least in part to assauge his ego and let everyone know how much of a superstar he is. Missing the finals had to hurt and seeing how it's Curry and Lebron (or vice versa) then the rest of the superstars he's milking this for all it's worth.

And guess what? The speculation about next year will keep his name in the news so you might as well sticky a Durant free agency thread because this is only the beginning.

We all know that the Lakers and Knicks are entitled to all the free agents. Strange the somebody forgot to tell the Free Agents.

Anyway, what is the source for everybody knowing that Westbrook is leaving the Thunder next year?

After a little Googling I have no Idea what Westbrook is thinking.

Could the Thunder give Westbrook a well paid contract extension now so that Durant does not have to wonder about Westbrook? Does the salary cap stop that?

I don't think so, I don't get the sense he's going this for his ego or for drama, if anything the rumors have been very anticlimatic compared to both of lebrons true free agencies. I think he's just very undecided and trying to make a decision.

Durant won't go to Boston. Bron owns KD. He doesn't want those problems.

I had you pegged as being a Warrior hater prior to Draymond's incidents and in your case I thought it was because you were a LeBron fan that did not like Curry or anybody winning MVPs that could have gone to LeBron.
