Kevin Love is the king of this. He still has everyone fooled thinking " he is sacrificing for LeBron" he's never been anywhere close to as good as his MIN stats indicated.

Edit: Sixers fans; don't forget that Colangelo drafted Terrence Ross over this guy. That was far from his most egregious move as Toronto's GM. You guys need to run him out of town before he has a chance to ruin the immense promise your squad has.
Relax. Colangelo also drafted DeRozan JV and traded for Lowry.

Re: King of Empty stats
Lebron's averaged triple double in the finals, makes ancient Richard Jefferson stick Durant so he doesn't get embarrassed too much, then has quotes like this
“Do I look tired?” James said at the Cleveland Cavaliers’ shootaround Wednesday in advance of Game 3 against the Golden State Warriors. “I feel great. I’m averaging a triple-double in the Finals. I’m pretty good, I would think.”
Douche chills aside, his mind was on emulating Westbrook instead of winning basketball

Lou Williams and Jamal Crawford.
Crawford wins 6th man of the year award every other year by putting up inefficient 15-20ppg, in reality nobody would take him over someone like Iguodala.

Mikes James in Toronto was pretty terrible for a guy putting up an efficient 20/6.

What record were you expecting for that team? 50 wins?
Love 100% had an impact.
Yeah, I wouldn't ever consider him or Harden in this sort of conversation with the efficiency they score at ancillary stats. You don't get 14 rebounds a game just by accident or 11 assist.
Yea, Love is a terrible example, that team was not even that bad, he definitely made them better too. A 500 team while having injuries, no wing creators, and didn't Corey Brewer start?
Corey Brewer, "can't protect the rim" Pekovic (54 games), "23 years old" Rubio, and "slowly fading away" Kevin Martin (68 games).

IDK man, I thought Lebron was pretty outstanding in the Finals. The Warriors were just a juggernaut.
I'll add Kenny Anderson and Stephon Marbury, or frankly any New York playground legend pg, at least it felt like that to me. Neither of these guys made anyone else better or ever meant winning basketball.

Everyone on the Phoenix Suns roster except the bigs because nobody gives them the ball.

Must be why he averages 19.2/10.4 in 29.3 minutes with an elite TS% of .624 (8th in the league among guys who scores more than 15ppg)...

That's far outweighed by him allegedly turning down Harden for JV.
That's not even getting into his atrocious free agency record:
- Linas Kleiza
- Hedo Turkoglu
- Landry Fields
- Jason Kapono
- Fred Jones
His trades were even worse:
- TJ Ford and a first round pick (Roy Hibbert) for a washed up Jermaine O'Neal
- Jermaine O'Neal (hugely valuable expiring) for a 2 month rental of Shawn Marion. This allowed Miami to have the cap space to sign Bosh! So he essentially traded Bosh for 2 months of Marion.
Worst of all:
- Andrea Bargnani. Enough said.
He was terrible here with the exception of his first year. I give him zero credit for drafting Derozan and Valanciunas by the way. They were both the consensus BPA at the time. The Lowry trade was his one move that was actually good in hindsight. That being said: we could have just taken Giannis with the pick he gave away in that deal. It's said that Masai was scrambling to acquire a pick to get him on draft night.
Overall he was really bad. There's a reason nobody in the NBA would give him a job with the exception of his own father.

Exactly and that was in the tougher conference. I remember looking up the SOS factored in and they were like the 13th or 14th best team in the NBA that year. Certainly not bad considering what he had around him.
A guy with a 26 PER is not what I'm looking for anyway. Guys with more like 15 PER's but scorign 20ppg and going to all star games. Seems like more of them in the past than today, I think most coaches and fans are more educated on these kind of guys today and efficiency/value.

Re: King of Empty stats
Devin Booker always comes to mind. I just don't like his game, and I think the Phoenix Suns are just enabling poor habits by allowing him to chuck shots at a very high volume. If he wants to be a valuable player he should learn how to step back a bit and play more team ball and focus on being more efficient of a scorer.
Boogie too. Once you go this long without ever making the playoffs, "bad luck" isn't really a great excuse anymore. Centers just shouldn't have usage rates that high imo.

Derozan and Wiggins as far as current players go IMO.
Both the more I watch them strike me as genuinely average players/slightly below average players that just take a lot of shots.

yes i know all that , he mad a lot of bad decisions but an idiot he is not. No need to constantly bash him , move on. He might just end up doing a good job in Philly.

90's were an era of iso ball, that created a lot of 20 PPG guys who weren't very good.
