About what? I'm not even predicting a Boston win in the current series, never mind one vs the Sixers, but we were 3-0 vs you this year before you beat us in the last one with no Kyrie or Hayward. Celts also won both preseason games, including one that you were down by 33 at one point, and shut down Simmons in all 6 of those games.

In case you forgot, there will be no Kyrie and Hayward if you face us. I can also assume you haven't been paying attention to the Sixers, because they are a much better team over the past couple of months than they were when those games occured.

Dude you're making too much sense... One sided stories are the Celtic fan's MO...

And another certain fanbase likes to boast heavily befor they've won a single thing. Boston was 3-1 vs Philly this season, they had won what, 17 of their last twenty meetings? Embiid was also far from dominate vs them this season shooting on the low 30's twice. Anyone who believes the Sixers will just walk over Boston, even with them missing their two best players is kidding themselves. Boston also would have home court. The previous poster also didn't even say Boston would win the series so I'm not sure how you correlate that with being one sided.

To be fair, I thought Baynes did a really good job defending Embiid in the first three match ups. In fact, the guy is probably the most underrated defensive center in the league (top 3 defensively along with Gobert and Embiid) and is a key part of that #1 defense that the Celtics have. On offense, it's like playing 4 against 5 and hence his small role.

Embiid is a beast and far and away Philly's best player, but yeah. Not sure why the #1 defense with a top 2-3 coach would have no possibility of defensive answers.

Are they still the #1 defense if you only include games with Kyrie out of the lineup? On paper Kyrie is an average defender this year but with everyone else having to exert themselves that much more offensively I'm skeptical they are still #1 in defense with him out of the lineup.

We've come a long way if Kyrie is somehow an anchor of the Celts defense, lol.

Goes against every conversation I have ever had on the GB, but OK.

I had a dozen threads here in preseason with people who claimed Boston would start slow (lol), fall off defensively (lol), and get smashed by the vaunted Cavs (lol). This doesn't even get into the incessant bashing that the Celts have gotten here for not giving up multiple Nets picks (aka both Jaylen and Tatum, plus much more) for guys like Asik, Carmelo, Cousins, George, Butler, etc...

Bottom line is that pretty much every non-Celtics fan on realm has been 100% wrong 100% of the way on every step of their current rebuild. They have wildly exceeded all expectations at all times. The only reason people can even pretend this isn't true is that they are currently missing two top 15-20 players, which would be instantly fatal for pretty much any team ever... but somehow, we might still still make the 2nd or 3rd round.

At a certain point, you just don't know what you are talking about at all, but it is all good.

P.S. Philly fans went through this to a much lesser extent during the Hinkie years, and now the pendulum has swung back way too far too soon.

Sixers haven't done anything since like 1984, and wouldn't know winning basketball if it jumped up and bit them in the ass.

No Hayward, Boston in 5 or 6.

No Kyrie or Hayward, not much would surprise me. Either way, East as it stands is as weak as I have ever seen a conference, and I have been watching since like 1981. None of these East teams matter in any way, shape, or form.

Ha.

Your best season in the last 17 years wouldn't crack Boston's top 50 tho.

The Sixers are in the second round of the playoffs. The Celtics have dropped two games to a seven seed. We will see if Boston lasts long enough to have the honor of being dismantled.

We will also see if I ever give a **** about this year's EC playoffs, and the answer will almost certainly be no, no matter what.

It is easier on the heart of you can prepare yourself early for the loss. Good of you to think ahead. There's always next year right?

Philly did not have Belinelli or Ilyasova in any of the losses to the celtics. This is a completely different team not sure why everyone is just going along with they were beating weak teams narrative.

Are we really comparing those guys to Hayward or Kyrie?

Or even Marcus Morris?

Enjoy your team, man. Don't care in the least about them or my own team in this playoffs.

Why are you here on this message board posting in this thread that is a topic you don't care about? Seems like reality has angered you, you've lashed out, realized you were being silly and now it's just too late to apologize. I'm willing to forget this ever happened if it makes it easier for you.

Watching all those 20 and even 30 point leads lost was so annoying. Funny how adding just a couple of guys make the bench look so much better.
Developing guys like Luwawu I get but how can a vet like Bayless make a team so bad by himself, it's difficult to understand, can't guard anyone, can't hit a layup, has to do jack with the ball but still turns it over and but has been in the NBA for 10 years getting paid 9 mill right now. Belinelli makes less than a 9th of what he does! If you looked at their contracts and said one destroyed a playoff team and the other didn't touch the floor ... nice guy though.
