Spurs should restructure their medical staff.

Exactly anyone trying to cover for the Spurs at this point seem to have some agenda. The more that comes out seems like Khawi didn’t want to get the Isaiah Thomas treatment and cleaned his hands. There was no narrative spin from his uncle or representation he wanted out to LA. They were right to stay silent because they were not going to win the public battle against the Spurs.

Ridiculous. Kawhi told teammates he was gonna come back only to stand up the team by not playing . Which tells me he was healthy .

Then he hid from the spurs staff when they came to check on him

If he had any doubt or felt betrayed by the narrative he felt the Spurs put out I don’t blame him for protecting himself

Danny Green would be a nobody if it wasn't for Pop and the Spurs so he better shut his mouth and not bite the hand that fed him

But Kawhi is the bad guy. We just saw a former superstar and surefire max contract candidate Isaiah Thomas get **** and lose hundreds of millions of dollars playing injured. No way was Kawhi going to risk that, and good on him for telling the Spurs to go **** themselves.

Don't let the truth in its intended context get in the way:

(Edited to add fourth tweet)

^Danny retweeted the last three.

Highlights: Danny supports Leonard seeking second medical opinion (Spurs did, too, by the way, and paid for it as per CBA) because Danny played through it and didn't feel right.

- Spurs told him it was a strain and to rehab it. (If it were so bad, he would not have played - as occurred this year).

- End of the year, Spurs doctors noticed a tear. (It's unclear whether playing through a strain caused a tear).

- Danny's whole point is that he felt he should have sought a second opinion, and thus his support for Leonard doing so.

And p.s. in case the point hasn't been made clear enough:

But please, do carry on lol

Spurs PR team couldn't pay my man Danny Green off to continue their spin and slander on Kawhi?

Damn.

The only reason this is even news is because of the Kawai situation. The Spurs medical staff did nothing wrong, and Danny Green made sure to point that out. Stop believing the garbage medias spin on things. They are just looking for clicks into start drama as usual.

to be fair, it took me 9 doctors and 3 MRIs to get a proper diagnosis on a tendon tear, where one doctor even claimed it was merely a self-inflicted wound and I have repressed all the memories of the event itself. I'm not surprised when most doctors make mistakes most of the time

Thank you for posting this. It's like commonsense evades people in this conversation. Doctors practice medicine. Only a fool would continue to be in pain and brush it off just because the doctors they have already seen couldn't find the problem. You continue to seek medical attention until you can find the problem and then the solution.

I saw like seven doctors just to get plantar fasciitis diagnosed lol.

Actually its not that uncommon to get/need multiple diagnosis from doctors. 8/9 is a lot but I've been close to people who were misdiagnosed, treated for the wrong ailment and took 3/4 different hospitals before being properly treated.

Its not like Leonard went to 8 different doctors right after another. He went through treatments with the team doc but continued to not feel right. I'm sure there were many discussions between him and the doctor. This was how it was with my relative. He sought different opinions. Another doctor did indeed have a different opinion on the injury.

If this is a lingering injury that the new doctor and Kawhi feel was misdiagnosed from the beginning, I can see how he might be wary and with the public bashing from Spurs players/organization, indeed upset. I cant say for sure, but I doubt Kawhi went to all these doctors and sought different treatment if he didnt genuinely feel still injured. And the Spurs didnt trust him/that.

My girlfriend went to 4-5 different doctors/specialists with most saying they couldn't help her before finally finding one who actually found the issue gave her some medicine and cured her problem. Like you said doctors have different opinions, varying levels of skill and i imagine the 8/9 mentioned for kawhi probably had different specialties too

Are people gonna sit here and act like Kawhi’s camp wasn’t in charge of his rehab since August

So when he came back for those 9 games he was obviously cleared by both his camp and the spurs

Spurs medical staff is not up to par. their job is to get the players back to the court ASAP. if that means not 100% then it could be mean its a detriment to the players down the line.

eh. Spurs medical staff has been the crux of all this TBH.

"The Spurs' medical team has received criticism for its loss of control in Kawhi Leonard's injury recovery. Leonard was traveling to New York to see an orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Jonathan Glashow and his staff at Mount Sinai Medical Center took over the rehabilitation process in midtown Manhattan. In retrospect and because of his experience, Green does not blame Leonard for seeking an outside opinion for the injury."

Urk. Kawhi made the right move staying out and getting a second opinion.

They deserve it. Remember they CLEARED Leonard and he played 9 games. Also, look what happened to naive IT2.
