Lakers would the need to move Ingram obviously. If they could move BI, Kuz, Lonzo, and picks for AD, they do it and make best big 3 in the NBA.

Houston makes sense as well.

He really needs to be around his contemporaries (I mean age, not talent. Jimmy is clearly a tier two guy). Having him around kids like Embiid, Simmons, or KAT, just doesn't seem to work.

Houston signs jimmy butler...how?

Not saying they can. It just an example of the type of team he needs to be on.

he wants to create his own superteam or at least be part of one, meaning he wants to do what lebron does, meaning he wants to play with established stars, meaning he won't be in philly for long.

everybody who thinks butler will be a 76er in FA raise your hand

The only team that has more "established stars" than the Sixers is Golden State

philly is too young. so was minnie. that's what he's been whining about all this time

I don't think he's actually whining though. From an aesthetics standpoint he gets along with all of his teammates. There hasn't been any evidence to actually materialize, just a series of reports coming from unnamed sources.

what does that even mean? that the 76ers are gonna trade him? lol

Doesn’t mean a damn thing, other than maybe a team that wants Jimmy leaked a non-story

She said it came from her talking to the Sixers herself

"I can tell you, having spent a couple of days in Philadelphia, they don't love it."

That's not what she said at all. How is "having spent a couple days in Philly, they don't love it" in any way equivalent to "spoke to sources around the Sixers"? It's not, she could be talking about ******* sports radio callers in Philly for God's sake.

This garbage simply continues the dual national narratives of Jimmy is a jerk, and let's stop the Sixers before they win anything and other teams copy The Process.

I'm also putting some blame on the Boston sabotage factor.

It does seem like Butler is getting along with Simmons and his other new teammates. But maybe his questionable status with the team has more to do with Butler's relationship with the coaching staff and front office..

Jimmy is definitely a "me against the world" kind of guy. But he's also a guy that is willing to bring people in to go to war with (if Butler likes them). If Butler is whispering things to Simmons that the FO doesn't like, then I could see why Butler would be on "thin ice."

Side note: not really sure why a lot of people in this thread are so perplexed by the "thin ice" report/descriptor... I don't read that as if a trade is imminent, it just means that the FO may be reluctant to hand over the franchise to him (i.e. 5-year max).

While I don't dispute that PHI maybe upset with Jimmy, I don't think being "on thin ice" would be an accurate description...

Butler has all the leverage here.

They can't let him walk for nothing and it will be very tough to find a trade partner when you're almost guaranteed to get back less than what you paid for a half a year of a guy who appears to be toxic in the lockerroom.

Look at it this way Philly, between winning games in the clutch, losing games in the clutch, creating chemistry issues, and getting injured you're getting the entire Jimmy experience whether he stays or leaves.

Their numbers are well better since he's there, the report about Brown was him sticking up for teammates, and Lowe literally said 2 minutes after noting he may not get a 5 year full max it would be something similar to Jokic, just slightly below it. Man people really want Butler not to work, despite it really working.

Isnt if funny how utterly in denial a fanbase can be? Lets say he ends up walking and goes to the clippers and starts acting out there. Clippers fans will be next to be saying "oh no thats fake news Jimmy is misunderstood those other situations were totally different."

Maybe she's only a homer for the Celtics.

No she’s not. She’s one of the best out there.

Based on a few of your posts in this thread, you seem pretty biased against her for some reason.

I still remember when all signs pointed to the Celtics wanting to retain Rondo, and she came out and torched the idea of that on fire; I remember all Celtic fans calling her out, but she was right in the end. Jackie M knows what she is talking about.

I just don't agree. I think she's overrated.

She's been right before yes. She's also been wrong. She also doesn't give that much information in that pod.I heard that podcast. & Was like so the Butler situation is iffy. Yes. We know this. She's talking about Dwight Howard being on Hornets & stuff. idk. She's strange to me.

I remember her calling the Rondo thing & me being mad about it. I also remember her going on ATH about it & sounding all types of drunk lol. She's ight. She talks & ppl stop as if shes the end all be all.

horse pucky! Just another worried Celtics fan looking over their shoulder. Jimmy is fine. The team is fine. And while they have performed quite well over this recent span where Jimmy been injured, it's clear the Sixers intend to keep him. He'd sign for 4, anyway!

Last time she reported on a team outside of Boston with the "LMA wants out of SA" it was completely BS.

That story was true. Are you under the impression that because Aldridge is still a Spur that story was "BS"?

23-11 since acquiring Butler, which is a 55-win pace. I'm not sure how much better people think the Sixers are supposed to be.

To Wizards: Butler + Conley + W. Chandler + 2019 Philly 1st

To Memphis: Fultz + Mahinmi

To Philly: Beal + Porter Jr. + Filler

Wizards hope Butler will stay for more money and play next to Wall. If Conley and Wall can't be a backcourt, trade Conley next season at deadline (once he fills in for Wall this year and see if a fitting duo next year).

Memphis sheds longterm salary and takes flyer on Fultz getting PT.

Philly surrounds Simmons and Embiid with more shooting.
C: Embiid
F: Simmons
F: Porter Jr.
G: Redick (or start a place holder G and have Redick off bench)
G: Beal

Many of the people calling this fake news are not 76ers fans. I'm sure not.

Yeah, the 76ers still have a limited bench and their three top players continue to struggle at times to fit together...and yet they're .680 since the trade, and also the Eastern Conference team with the best record against the West. But Butler's a cancer and the 76ers suck...because, you know, "they" told me.

Love how Jackie is being dragged through the mud because she lives in NE and on going ties to the Celtics. She has been a national writer for a decade and she hasn't even been the dedicated Celtics writer for ESPN. Chris Foresberg had that position. Some people here are butthurt because she read the atmosphere of a team she was covering in person.

Bet most people don't know that Lowe was a writer for a Celtics blog before he joined ESPN and he even grew up a Celtics fan. No one gives him crap for that.
