Could Julius Randle be an all star this year?

I’ll be shocked if they win 10 games by Christmas.

They’ll be hovering around .500 to start the season. Then reality will kick in 2019 and they’ll finish with 22-29 wins

He will probably average 22-23 ppg, about 10 rpg and 4-5 apg. Those are definitely all star numbers.

Idk if he gets there if they refuse to play him at the 5 or at least play him next to a true stretch 5.

I always doubt that they know what they’re doing, so hopefully they prove me wrong.

The Knicks will be one of the bottom 5 teams in the entire league. Randle’s ceiling is 20 and 10. Although a lot of all stars went West (Kwahi, Porzingis, Russell) Pascal Siakim is more likely to make the allstar team.

The last spot is up for grabs and who knows about injury replacements. I imagine a Pacer would get in there because I think there record will be good enough, but Randle, Young, Love, Tatum, Hayward, Lavine are all good candidates.

The lack of respect for Bradley Beal is ridiculous (unless you have him getting shipped off to the western conference).

He has a chance. If the Knicks have a modicum of success then I'd imagine he'd be a huge reason why.

No. Whether fair or not people will see Randle as a stat-padder on one of if not the worst teams in the league and that'll negatively affect his vote totals.

Two words for you; David Lee. Randle is basically a lock, Knicks fans will vote for him a ton if he's averaging 22/12/4 or something like that even if his impact isn't there.

Randal has shown great growth over the last two season. He improves again? He could have a field day in the weak EC.

If he was in the loaded WC? We would not be having this conversation.

If he gets the minutes, I don't think a 24/12/4 season is out of the question for him, but I expect his efficiency to dip, his turnovers to increase, and the Knicks to suck. I don't expect the knicks sucking to be Randle's fault, but that won't do any him favors in terms of the whole empty stats/not making a real impact reputation that he has.

Will it be enough to be allstar? I'm not sure; Assuming the East has 7 front court spots for the playoffs: (and assuming Simmons and Butler are listed as guards, and AD isn't healthy by the ASG)

The only locks are Giannis & Embiid, which bodes well for Randle, but you have a lot of contenders for those three other spots that Randle doesn't necessarily have a huge advantage ; Middleton, Horford, Tatum, Siakam, Drummond, Griffin, Collins, Markannen, Vucevic, Gordon, Turner, Love if he actually plays, etc. If he does get something near 24/11/4, I expect him to squeeze in there though, but that really depends on how those other guys perform.

Middleton should get in again.Tatum/Siakam for example could easily be 20 point scorers on similar efficiency and better defense for playoff teams. Collins can have similar numbers to Randle without the empty stats reputation. Vucevic literally just average 20/12/4 for a playoff team.Then there is the enigma that is Blake.


So yeah, If this was the west, he had no chance, but on the east, he has a chance simply because of the lack of competition.
