Morey is such a clown. He didn't even have the courage to keep his tweet up.

Nothing, really. But people shouldn't be regarding a corporation like the NBA as some kind of social vanguard. They're not.

Well I agree with that. I've never cared for the political positions of sports figures. I wish politics was removed from sports completely to be honest. It just muddies the waters. I watch sports for entertainment.

Interesting, where’s the human rights in this incident?

That was an illegal arrest. The student has recourse, he can sue, and will almost certainly win.

America isnt perfect, and you'll find problems everywhere you look, but it's a non-comparison to China.

Not saying Morey CAN'T have an opinion on this stuff but celebrities and athletes SHOULD stop trying to be virtue signalling politicians.

Daryl Morey should just shut up and dribble.

Yes, why would we want people who are able to influence thought signaling society to be more virtuous. Surely the goal should be to influence people to become more morally bankrupt.

Hong Kong is really a non-issue compared to the concentration camps that are in Xinjiang. Ugyhurs are literally being wipe off the fact of the planet as we speak.

Exactly my point, however, comparison to China or not, it’s arguable, your opinion is as valuable as mine.

Morey is a perfect example of what the other poster was talking about.

People in Hong Kong are putting their lives on the line literally for what they believe in - Morey on the otherhand sends a meaningless tweet of support with no real action behind it then at the first sign of blowback takes it down.

LOL but he got to feel better about himself for the 5 minutes the tweet was up that's what it's all about anyways. Sort like all those tweets about bring back our girls like Boko Haram was ever going to respond to a twitter pressure campaign

Boko Haram member 1: Whose foreign scum head are we going to cut off today?
Boko Haram member 2: That's boring I vote we go to nearest village and abscond with their woman
Boko Haram Leader: Everyone stop what you are doing. Did you hear the news?
Boko Haram member 1: No.
Boko Haram member 2: That is because you have T-Mobile fool. I told you to switch to verizon months ago
Boko Haram member 2: *opens his phone and goes to his twitter mentions* Oh my god my mentions are through the roof and I lost a million followers. What are we going to do?
Boko Haram Leader: There is only one option we must release the girls and pray that our followers come back to us

When it’s about some feel-good BS, the NBA sure knows how to “make a statement” and “be progressive”—funny how things change when revenue is at issue.

He did his part. It probably came down to losing your job or deleting the tweet. By time that conversation came up, the tweet was already circulated. The NBA is a clown show for choosing money over freedom. In the NBA, you are only free to criticize Trump and US politics duh.

if you dont have an opinion either way, then dont comment at all. dont decry others for voicing their opinion on related topics of a bigger issue. on an issue that - contrary to your sentiments - people should very much care for. thats a thought for anyone that might be inclined to post 'who cares' or 'omg shut up' next time
