Im not saying that he has the same power as lebron shaq zion but he had power. power=strength for me. So for him to finish as well as he did in traffic and through contact he mustve had plenty of strength.

Maybe im wrong on that power is roughly the same as strength.

Fastest player in the league quick, all the way until sometime in his Miami days

But most of the time he avoided contact... he was a quickness and finesse player, when Laimbeer tried to hammer him under the basket he made a spin and a and1 layup, there was no power or contact absorbing.

The acceleration and velocity was around there I'd say. Carmelo was actually the big wing back in the day that was known for his first step more than LeBron. His was probably like later years Derozan level. For LeBron he's admitted as much that it's his second step that gets you. Compared to elite quick PGs there's weren't that absurd, but it's the total package of size, length, and strength, with the first step of a still very quick smaller man that gets you.

Carmelo's first step during his short athletic peak was ridiculous and got him dunks at will.

KingDavid wrote:LeBron was fast when he got going. Quickness though? Eh. Rose, Westbrook, plenty of other guards and wings were quicker. For a player his height, it's impressive because practically no one his size could do all of what he did athletically.

This, he's like a train, he needs some space to gather before he's at top speed.

He was strong, fast rather than quick. Nowadays he is about average quick for his height/weight. He still has one the highest bbiq's in the league, but definitely doesn't finish around the basket like he used to.
