People are so funny.

Guy leaves the team that drafted him to go to a better situation...

“He’s so disloyal! There’s no loyalty in the NBA anymore! He can’t do it by himself so he needed to find help!”

Guy stays with the team that drafted him...

“What a loser! He’s wasting away his prime! He needs to go to a better team ASAP!”

You have to think that he wanted to be "the piece" rather than "a piece" at this stage of his career. A lot of really good players who aren't MVP candidates but still can be all-nba and all-star level players won't win rings in their prime (Lillard, Beal, Jokic, Butler). After a couple of years if the Wizards are still at the bottom of the East then there's no way he stays. However, for his current contract it's hard to see him leaving to become "a piece" as long as the Wizards are in playoff contention. His next contract will be a different story as he will be close to out of his prime years and would be more suited to be "a piece" than "the piece."

Not reading through of all the crap but Beal is happy in D.C. and wants to win there. He is not a ring chaser unless you mean ring chasing his soon to be wife.

Good day

He's getting paid, gets to be "the man" and put up numbers. I don't think guys of his caliber are in a position to be making those kind of demands. It's not like if he had the right pieces around him they'd be a title contender. He'd need to be the 2nd or 3rd best player on the team.

Wasn't eligible to be traded this season but can be traded in the offseason if that's the way the Wiz want go.

Yep, He knew the Wizards were going to be a grease fire for a couple of years minimum... if he starts whining an demanding a trade I am going to lose all respect for the man, Same would go for Lillard if the Blazers continue to struggle..

That said, I don't believe either of these guys will. Both seem like guys who want to win, but want to do it their way in their town.
