They should get the audience involved more. It is not like nba is technology challenged. You can have voting device to each paid ticket holder, or let each audience register one phone to send text when the the same score appears. total votes/total audience = extra points added to the score.

The problem is that when you look at the big picture, Gordon has singlehandedly brought back the dunk contest after years and years of garbage. Comical props, no creativity, bad execution etc. It was getting to a point where people thought it should be outright eliminated. Gordon revived it and got nothing in return. That is the real robbery for me

1 had 5-6 amazing dunks. The other had 1 amazing dunk, then started dunking on repeat. 3 Under the leg dunks from different angles. Wow. Amazing.

This was way more of a robbery than 2016.

LaVine’s between the legs from the foul line in 2016 was way better than Jones Jrs multiple iterations of between the leg dunks he did tonight . And Gordon should have won in 2016 but this one was way more blatant

That's your opinion. Gordon had some of the best dunks ever in the 2016 dunk contest. He had some special dunks in this one but the sheer ridiculousness of those collective 2016 dunks makes that a massive robbery despite Lavines last dunk

Also again one can't just ignore that Gordon landed on Falls head. A 9 was certainly not out of the question. Don't forget that 2 other judges gave him just that

At the very least they both were all time level performances. Lavine basically had a top 3 performance ever that year too

Youre acting as if every judge independantly scores it and thats now how it works sometimes, they literally agreed in giving it a 48 and going to a decision where they would vote for the winner. You can see it when boseman, who gave a 9, went 100% wtf at the end

It's just a faulty scoring system.

It could have easily been 47/48 or 49/47 or 46/47... it's totally subjective and extremely difficult to score.
