a. Its hardly a given the Lakers will win it all right now
b. There will never be any sort of consensus when it comes to ranking MJ and LeBron even if the Lakers win the title this year. That's not even including KAJ and Russell who many still have as their personal goat.

LAKESHOW wrote:Should and IF Lebron wins it all this year, he will have surpassed Jordan. Lebron would have done it on 3 different teams. Look at what happened to Jordan, when he switched over to 1. Massive Fail.
Such terrible logic. Jordan didn't even "switch over" to the Wizards. He was the Washington Wizards President of Basketball Operations, and he simply wanted to play again after years of being away from the game. It wouldn't have made any sense for the current president of Basketball operations at that time, Michael Jordan to return to the Bulls because again he was still the President of Basketball Operations, and had every intention to continue doing that job once he was ready to step down from the game once again. However it did not work out that way.
Lebron on the other hand did switch from team to team. Leaving each time after things didn't turn out the way he wanted them to. This is your goat? doesn't make any sense to me but hey, that's your story.

However the fact is it still doesn't change anything about his failures from his past compared to MJ's full resume and others.
All those times he got swept and lost in general in playoff rounds during his prime. (but it's a team game!) yes, but as leader he gets majority of the blame just like Magic did in the 80s when many started calling him Tragic Johnson. Jordans overall resume is simply better period, and he earned by being the overall better player and leader than Lebron.
they are worried and MJ is worried, thats why he made the documentary of himself and greenlit it on the day of the cleveland championship parade
if he gets to 4 championships then he is potentially only 2 years away from 6 (6 - 4 = 2)
if he can get to 6 then it would be 6 while everybody was trying to stop him, MJ has 6 when everybody was trying to help him

Think about this, if Lebron wins this year it's 4, with a real possibility to win more, Durant essentially STOLE title hopes from Lebron in 2017 and 2018 by joining a 73 win core. Lebron would of beat a Durant-less Warriors team atleast once, not to mention he was VERY shorthanded in 2015 due to Love and Irving injuries, otherwise he would of probably beat that team as well. MJ didn't have an opponent like the Warriors or even the 2014 Spurs that he topped. I wouldn't count the 1991 Pistons to be in that category, and then who was the best teams he beat the Ewing Knicks or 1996 Sonics? Being honest with myself, the 1997 and 1998 Jazz were not that great, Stockton and Hornacek were well past their prime, it was classic overachievement by Sloan and Malone's continuing dominance that even put them in that position.
Durant stole Lebron's titles by joining a superteam, meanwhile Lebron won deserved championships by colluding with two of the best players in the Eastern Conference and forming the Miami Heat super team, and then bailing on them once Wade was declining to form another super team in Cleveland with two other all stars and masquerading it as "coming home".

Nah, the only people worried here are the Lebron fans who keep trying to put this guy in the GOAT conversation because of this reason or that reason. Michael Jordan has absolutely nothing to worry about because again, his overall career was better no matter what happens in these playoffs, and he was the better individual leader and player between the two.

Exactly this, then he jumped away from "home" again when that fell apart once again to go to Hollywood to form yet another super team with him, Leonard, Paul George and whoever else was promised to him during the time of the negotiations. That plan didn't work out, but in the end he was given Anthony Davis to work with.

no, we will just have to agree that im correct because i see what they are doing, first they pin their hopes on someone stopping him and now they are reduced to downplaying this situation, like its the weakest playoffs in history or lebron is once again stacking the deck
another thing they will say is that this is not a real nba championship, anything to discredit the power of the Lebron

Still behind MJ in championships, individual awards, peak, most major advance statistics favor Jordan, also LeBron has never lead a team to a dynasty which gets overlooked as most of the top players ever have done it, Jordan did it twice.
Jordan also won three in the weakest era we have seen in 40 years. The mid to late 90's was garbage. No Euro players, high schoolers and expansion. Look at those sonics and Jazz rosters.
The weakest era accorsing to who? I could easily argue that the weakest era was 2005-2016.

if Reggie Miller and Shaq joined Utah and stole some of MJ's titles like what happened to Lebron then it would be 4-3 and close to being 4-4

It is funny that some people still are too stupid to realize that LeBron hasn't done **** yet, and it is far froma given that he and the Lakers will win 8 more games this season.

its not the weakest era but its certainly weaker than now, back then the nba was less popular so lets say they had 1,300,000 people trying to play it and be in the nba
now lets say that is up to 4,000,000
so this means its a stronger era

*Looks at Clippers losing to the Nuggets in 7*
Yep, that one right there made Lebron the GOAT.
Be honest Lebron pals, is there anything that can occur that isn't evidence Lebron is the GOAT to you? We all heard it when he was losing to the Warriors repeatedly "hes the best player in that series!!! even if he loses!" "His stacked team wasn't stacked enough!!" "Look at the triple double in the loss tho!"
Getting a bit desperate sounding. Especially for a guy that missed the playoffs last season because he wasn't teamed up with a top-10 player for the first time in a decade

LeBron needs at least two more titles to be considered in the GOAT discussion. Until then, let's just enjoy him while we can.

How so? Anyone can win a title playing this weak competition. His Finals opponent will be a either a 5th seed that nobody expected to make out of the 2nd round or a very young/inexperienced team with no superstars either.
And he gets to duck the 2 best players who were his competition in Giannis and Kawhi.
Plus he choked in the 2011 Finals and has inferior regular season and playoffs stats all across the board.
LeBron is 3-6 in the Finals with way more help and superstar talent. He could never win without another #1 option / MVP level player or player capable of scoring 30 ppg. Jordan went 6-0 and smokes LeBron in the playoffs and Finals.
Also keep in mind LeBron is being outplayed by one of his own teammates through 2 rounds. Jordan never had a teammate put up anywhere near his production, regular season or playoffs.
LeBron is closer to Kareem than Jordan.

What the hell?! This level of calculation is impeccable, where did you get this formula?
As a MJ stan, I'm very worried because, get this, what if he plays 4 more years after those additional 3 years and his rings go from 4 to 4 + 4 = 8 (yes I checked my numbers) he would have 8 titles. If Lebron retires at 45, he will have 14 titles, this is insane, he must be stopped.
Someone call Curry!!!!

Except for the fact that youth participation in sports is down over 35% since the late 1970s at it's peak, and basketball is actually down 40% in that time period which means that there were not more people trying to play in the NBA in the last 20 years.
That is also not discussing the fact that many of the potential franchise players during the 05-16 era ended up injured and out of the league.
