it's hard to tell because we don't know who their new coach will be and the roster changes that will occur.

Well you guys got Ty Lue. I'm a lil higher on Lue than most so I think it's a good hire for you guys.

Well you guys got Ty Lue. I'm a lil higher on Lue than most so I think it's a good hire for you guys.

We'll see. I'm hopeful. I think they need different leadership- maybe Lue can make better adjustments than Doc. I wonder how much of Lue's success was due to LeBron though- I guess we'll find out.

I was partial to Sam Cassell, but he has never had a head coaching job so it's hard to know how he would do.

I actually liked the guy on the suns with NAsh, he found a way to succeed even though he is possibly the most unathletic guy in the league, but he took a quick and dramatic decline. Now he is a cheer leader and laundry guy without any real use and he sits behind J.R. Smith and Dion Waiters which is about as low as it gets.

Lue having a ring is COMPLETELY irrelevant. Like he had as much to do with the Ring as anyone currently posting on this forum .

It wasn't just the expectations, but there seemed to be entitlement with the Clippers. Then they choke away games that they should have won, and you have a recipe for laughter. The one thing I have to say about the Lakers is that they kept their head down and played like they were the underdogs. Maybe Vogel is responsible for that or maybe the players, I can't tell. "Humble Pie" is best served fresh daily.

I can see why those comments may rub people the wrong way. My point is that many players say or do things that others may not like, but PG gets tremendous hatred- as if he has committed some horrible crime.

For example, on the Lakers LeBron could be criticized for his earlier arrogance while on Miami- declaring they would essentially win an infinitesimal number of championships to him claiming Daryl Morey was misinformed about China and Hong Kong.

Rajon Rondo's homophobic comments directed toward Bill Kennedy amongst other offensive things he's done.

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/dec/15/rajon-rondo-gay-slur-nba

KCP's DUI debacle.

Dwight Howard's behavior overall throughout his career- self-focused and dirty play.

Anthony Davis forcing his way out of NOLA despite having one more year on his contract.

You put up with it because they are on the team you cheer for. I get it- my point is Clipper fans have to do the same with PG.

It is disappointing that the 2 most recent competitive editions of the Clippers have been some of the most despised teams in the NBA despite other teams having equally offensive characters.

I guess none of it matters anyway. It is just a sport and sort of waste of time for grown men like me and others to care so much.

the Clips used to be lovable losers... a side show to the glitzy Lakers,

but when the team started to claim that the Lakers are done and its time for the Clips to take over the city, it just rubbed people (Lakers fans mostly) the wrong way..

covering up the banners & retired jerseys in staples.. & recently with all those BS billboards that they couldnt even back up it seems..

the lakers have been the most dominant NBA team since the 70s.. & any attempt to downplay this on the part of a co-tenant who really has nothing to show for it other than 2nd round exits... your team is really going to get it.. trying hard wannabes..

I'm still wondering to this day, why a team would want to exist in the shadow of the Lakers.. which casts the biggest shadow among all the teams in the entire league... the Clippers are really better off in some other town..

gaddam!!!! there it is slippers fans! no love loss. it's time to go...

LAKESHOW wrote:What got me was the Pat Riley Heat part. Dude has not changed. He said Miami got this little Military thing goin on, and after the Win, they would be down in the Lobby partying loud and crazy, like they were Spartans who won the battle. Pat Riley tough style many do not know, injured our players before a championship game, and we lost our starting back court, and Lost the Championship. His military type grind cost us in 90.

Wait. I believe the military part was about LeBron's time with the Heat. Dudley was very complimentary of the culture Riley established because LeBron expressed his admiration for it. The consensus seemed to be that LeBron benefitted greatly from his time with Miami. That he took his game to the next level because of what he learned during his time with the Heat.

The whole thing was great. Some good insight like stuff about the clippers choking game 4 vs okc in the last 30 seconds of the game. Series was levelled at 2-2. Said in the bus after the game he knew they lost the series and he could tell the whole team felt the same. Lots of very candid stuff.

this aged well. i'm still waiting for kawhi to win his 1st legit fmvp. the first one came as a role player for the spurs where lebron was the clear-cut best player in that series. he then left joined the raps who already won 60 games without him and they were fortunate that their father left the conference so that finally opened their path to the finals where they caught a massive break when the servant and klay got hurt. kawhnot is the fake robot who has always played on superstacked teams without having any pressure to perform unlike the real terminator known as legoat who is still the clear-cut best player in his 17th/18th season.

So you are saying that LeBron won his rings with hot garbage...please.. the dude is always crying for more talent..to play besides him.. I became a LeBron fan when he won that one championship with the Cavs... Other than that one.. it was Miami with Bosh And Wade..and not forgetting some key role players on that team.. then the Lakers...and with the defensive player of the year..not to mention Rondo..Danny Green..Dwight Howard...keeping in mind..he won this one easily too without a top tier opponent in Curry .. Klay.. Kawhi..or even Durant.. I think the Celtics and the Raptors of this year would have given a better fight to the Lakers..

The fact is..who cares..when you win a championship nothing else matters.. congrats to LeBron for winning another one.. they may look like the favourites to repeat.. but here comes free agency..let's see how teams tweak things up..to compete against LeBron and AD.. I'm sure..Durant Curry.. and Kawhi will want another stab at this..

Dudley insight into how NBA teams play defense and what "type" of players pick guys up at 1/2 court and why players don't do this-
This is some of the most insightful NBA talk I've ever digested and understood.

Like I stopped the pod to re-listen to it to make sure I understood it.

If (like me) you ever wonder how guys survive in the NBA when they are capable of scoring 20+ PPG but they don't and you wonder-
Why do teams still max this guy? How could he be that valuable in a game where the object is to score points?

again, I'm old, I'm a sports talk radio junkie but podcasts like Simmons are the best thing to happen to sports fans.
You're missing out an a ton of great stuff if you like basketball and don't listen to these things.

I look forward to them after a big game/series.

Do you guys do the Ringer NBA Show too?
KOC is another basketball savant I enjoy.
