Greed is an interesting word. Is it greedy to have a lot or to demand what isn't yours? I think there's a lot of explore with that. My concern with Lebron is that he says he's for equity, but won't give away all his excess wealth. I just want him to not just talk about it, but actually be about it.

Excess? Are you defining how much is too much for him? No doubt in my mind this is an outlook you've contradicted plenty of times if that's the case. He doesn't have any standard to live up to but his own.

No, I think that's wrong, but many people see nothing wrong with that idea. I just think it would be nice if he didn't contradict himself and lived equity, lived his truth.

Hypothetical, if you're a LeBron hater but a Kings fan, do you want him to own the Kings or not?

It wouldn't bother me. Shaq is a minority owner and he used to **** all over the Kings. :D

Stolen so much of our wealth? What do you mean by that?

I'm not sure, it would take someone more knowledgeable than me to explain how he does that.

Actually no he can't. There are strings attached to his money. He can only do what his handlers allow him to do.

It makes no sense to me. Hopefully when he retires, he starts sending out checks to everyone with less money than him to redistribute the wealth. I think we can all use an extra check amirite?

Lebron donates millions to programs that support underprivileged children that his wife manages every year. So he is about it, you just weren't aware because it's not a major headline.

My question is...what the hell do you do with that much money.

Build a spaceship. I heard it's what all the cool billionaires are doing now.

When you have the money resolve world hunger you do not hesitate to send a teenager to space.

The way billionaires use their money is astounding. If Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk put 1/50th of their money together--they could solve a lot of the worlds problems. Why none of them even attempt to and would rather build spaceships is beyond me.

Like..how much money would it cost to build new water pipelines in Flint, MI so they can have clean water. A few hundred million, maybe? Bill Gates could write that check to fund new pipelines and never even feel it. He could also use it as a massive tax write off.
That would be the greatest PR move in history for any of those guys.

The problem is mismanagement, not a lack of money. Moreover, it's far more important that people learn to do things for themselves. Education and skills building is the way to 'solve' the word's problems.

Obviously not nearly enough if he hit the billion dollar mark. He should be living like the average person according to his tweets.

Are you serious?

LeBron has been catering his speech and actions to China's feelings since his first stint with the Cavs.

What do you mean "what the hell do you do with that much money"?
Invest in everything everywhere, buy up property, build new property, buy an island.............
The rich wanna stay rich, otherwise you cant keep up with the lifestyle

Sure you can invest and buy property but the purpose of that is to build more money in the future.

LeBron could retire right now and his kids and grandchildren and grandchildrens children would all have more money than God.

Eventually you gotta stop and smell the roses. I highly doubt LeBrons future wealth will be in doubt if he doesnt reinvest his money or buy property.

Ha! Rich people cant stop, thats the thing. Yeah, me and you and every regular person on the planet says "oh if I had 10 million Id be set for life and just chill".............it never works like that. Greed is a helluva drug
Once you have 10 million you want 100. Once you have 100 you want 1 billion, when you have 1 billion you want 10.........its a never ending cycle

He's probably worth way more than that now. If he earned 1b, and probably got taxed 40% of that - still 600m, but he's had almost 17 years of investing his salary too...the SP500 has gone up 500% since LeBron entered the league. Not saying he 500%'d his money since obv he didn't have all that cash up front, but even if he invested "only" 30% of his earnings every single year, he's at a massive profit.

I think its pretty much a given that LeBron buys an NBA Franchise soon after he retires. Question is will it be the Cavs (that's what I'm hoping for but who knows with Gilbert) or will it be a new Franchise (Seattle?).

Some petty responses in this thread, what a dumpster fire. Can’t even mention Lebron without the same gang of retards showing up.

Maybe, maybe not. Dan Gilbert has done a lot for the city of Detroit. And nobody acknowledges that when crapping all over him.

Petty Responses? Retards? Dumpster Fire? Nobody hasn't even brought up the how older stars didn't have the opportunities LeBron had, the Decision, or Michael Jordan.

This thread is pretty tame.

He’ll end up becoming a majority owner in some team. Him, Maverick Carter, Rich Paul put together probably have enough to buy a team.
