They actually call less fouls for post players. It's the reason Tim Duncan called it quits from FIBA ball after the 2004 Olympics. He thought he was getting mugged every trip down the floor.

They call more fouls on the perimeter, which is why Bruce Bowen was basically useless as a FIBA player.

You've got this backwards because you're using evidence from a totally different era. More fouls are called now for perimeter guys, much less in the post.
