When you think about it, it does seem like some idiot who bet his house on a game would be near the court, and see his life flashing before his eyes as the opposing team came barreling down the court to take the lead with 5 seconds left.

If all I got was "banned for life" perhaps the afternoon down at the station getting figerprinted, and chewed out...hell yeah, I'm stopping that play. But then let's flip that as well: Let's say you just bet your house on a game, and some dik-head runs out there, and saves his team, and you lose? You gonna go look for that guy? I don't think the guy would need jail. Someone with over $100k on the game will prob take care of him.

Does seem like there aughta be some well thought out "plan" for such an event. Seems incredible one of these playoffs haven't been destroyed yet. I suppose it goes to show that there is still a vast, vast, vast majority of people with their heads on straight still (for the most part).

Not really, ppl who can afford to sit near the court in a crucial NBA game are well off. They aren't risking jail time/their livelihood on a dumb game.

Baseball rules account for fans though, right? The problem with this play is it was dumb to get in the way of the team you are rooting for. If he did this with the other team taking the field, he wouldn't be villainized, he'd be a hero.

The picture is at an angle anyway, ball is in the crowd and is fair game. No one but a Cubs fan thinks otherwise.

Considering I'm not a Cubs fan, potentially only Marlins fans believe it wasn't interference lol

People literally dressed up as Bartman for Halloween that year, full-on GB poster-looking costume and all.
