They don't have a shot maker closer. Giannis needs Middleton more than any superstar needs their sidekick

Really another stupid thread ignoring who's actually playing for the bucks? They're playing perfectly fine given their instability and the complete no names who are dominating the minutes for the team not named giannis.

Jrue Holiday is working himself back from injury and has missed 6 games so far, Middleton is on covid protocol and has missed 8.

Add Brook Lopez who's been out for 13 contests so far and throw in DiVincenzo who hasn't made an appearance yet.

I'd say the Bucks are right where you'd expect them based on their schedule so far.

They've dropped a couple they should have won and won a few they probably had no business winning.

If you compare them to the Hawks they're doing a much better job despite having way more injury issues to contend with.

They'll come around eventually, assuming they get their core back healthy.

Deep playoff runs take a toll. Few teams win and maintain; and this turnaround was faster than most.

Every team that wins experiences a level of fortune. You play your opponent and you play with the team available.

I mean, where are the updates on Lopez?? Haven’t heard a thing in about 10 days. I know the team is taxed out but this injury to Lopez seems more serious than they want to admit. They desperately need another big.

The Bucks have been missing up to 4 starters at a time and multiple bench players all year. Stop with this nonsense.

lol stay mad.
The double standards of NBA fans and talking heads is always on full display when talking about the Bucks and Giannis. "But, it's Milwaukee. They couldn't possibly actually be good..."

We try to play without a center. We use lineups of 5 guards when Giannis is resting. We allow 15 and 20 offensive rebounds to teams like the Hawks with Trey Young and the Knicks and Giannis doesn't have the will to enter game 6 mode to win some regular season games because he is also trying to get past some injuries right now(sprained knee and ankle).

I think some similar questions should be:

Are the Wizards the new kings of the East?
Will the Cavs protect their home advantage in the playoffs?
Will the Lebron's Lakers miss the playoffs this season?
Are the 2021 Warriors as good as the 73-9 team?

So before they won the chip and were dominating teams in the regular season, they were constantly being called fool's gold and a great RS team only. Now they are the defending champs and have struggled to start the RS and they're still somehow fools good?

RealGM - where the RS simultaneously matters and is irrelevant. Schroedinger's Regular Season

The Bucks have reached the point that its only about the playoffs for them, understandably so. They've been an elite team for several years, now a championship team. The regular season in November is just not very important for them. Its funny that people are taking this months record with this team for anything.

Last year's Nets with no Kyrie and an injured Harden? That team? Hec, the Knicks would have beaten that team.

If KD's foot was an inch further back that injured Nets team would have advanced to the finals.

And very likely beaten the Suns too…

Bucks have a lot of guys out right now. They've been to the playoffs enough to the point where they're not gonna worry about a small stretch in the regular season.

I love it. Apparently the team that just won the championship is “fools gold”. I never get tired of this place.

Edit - never mind. Just noticed who created the thread. Makes perfect sense now. Carry on.

I've gotta say, the Bucks are the luckiest team of the last 20 years. Every legitimate contender sustained an injury to their core players last season during the playoffs and those injuries resulted in Milwaukee walking into a title. We are talking about a title so gifted that it legitimately adds credit to the Raptors 2019 title. Maybe even KD's rings (Eh, nevermind not really). At least the Raptors made it out of a tough East with an elite Sixers team taking them to the wire. Last years Finals was a once in a life time thing. Neither the Suns or the Bucks will make it back. I guarantee it.

Any thoughts on how to “legitimize” that bubble title the Lakers won a couple of years ago since you seem to be the expert on what’s a “real title” and what isn’t?
