It's not about feeling bad for the Bulls or any team. The league letting the Bulls play against other teams or even practice when they have a clear outbreak (7 players and 2 broadcasters) is negligence. If they have to make the Bulls forfeit then so be it but if they keep playing it will just keep spreading.

Good news for Bulls fans is that if they are vax'd, the odds of severe symptoms are very low so they should be back quick.

Team is 100% vaccinated.

I am not sure if people are aware but there is a Covid outbreak going on with Chicago Bulls and just see - other than Lavine/Lonzo/Vuc - they are going to have to play the players that were not in the rotation or bring in g-leaguers to fill in the roster.

Bulls have Coby White, Demar Derozan, Javonte Green, Matt Thomas, Derrick Jones Jr, and now Ayo Dosunmu - all in there top 8 rotation guys except Matt Thomas. Not to mention Patrick Williams is out and Caruso is out with bad hammy.

What I want to discuss is why the league is not postponing their games (like they did last year)?? This could not only affect Bulls but whoever they play in their games next. If I am the other team that;s playing Bulls next, I would be very worried. This could mean other teams players can get Covid and be out for a while and so on.

Hornets beat the Kings down 7 rotation guys on Friday, pushed the 6ers to their limits down 5.

The real question is, how in the hell can the NBA stand by their booster mandate knowing that they don't prevent transmission?

I haven't seen much evidence to suggest vaccinated players can't carry/spread covid any less than non-vaccinated, only that their individual symptoms are reduced.

I've heard that the argument that less symptoms = less coughing/sneezing = less mucus/saliva on the court but if symptoms are reduced players are probably more liberal with their interactions as they won't know they're infected.

If the players aren't being tested by virtue of being vaxxed, a covid explosion seems like the likely conclusion.

If you're a Bulls fan or a fan of a team seriously impacted right now - be content, it's less likely they'll all get infected come playoff time. Regular season really doesn't matter for good teams other than hoping for homecourt.

The Bulls should have won last night against the Heat even without their rotational players, Vuc is straight trash, he went 3/15 and is averaging 15/10/3 on .469 TS for the year. Every single advanced stat is down for him so it's not just a shooting slump. He's even shooting 63% on FTs, the lowest since 2011. If he played like his ORL days, the Bulls would the the favorites in the East.

What about next year and year after? How about ten years from now when covid still exist like the flu and other diseases?

More roster spots means additional cost for teams and travel expenses.

I think you deal with each year as it comes but the last two it would have made sense. Hopefully if conditions change it will be unnecessary. While the cost will be greater, there is a benefit to being able to address roster shortages seamlessly.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

95% of the league is vaxed, so I'm sure all of the Bulls are.

If severe symptoms are very low with the vaxed, then why are we so afraid of spread?

You think Miami is happy Zach and TBJ were breathing all over their players last night? You think Detroit is looking forward to Tuesday? Just postpone the games.

GREY 1769 wrote:Yeah it's not that unusual. Last season the Spurs were five or six games over .500 when a Covid outbreak derailed the rest of the season. We had, I think, five players out for Covid, and then DeMar wasn't available for a while because his dad passed away and he had to tend to that.

So the games that were canceled as a result meant that they got pushed into an already condensed season and we didn't have more than one day off between games the rest of the season which was brutal. At least the Bulls don't have to reschedule games into another part of the schedule that forces less rest. It's just something players and teams still have to be very careful about. But the consequences aren't what they were last season with an already shorter schedule.

Popovich would have 9 rings if not for Covid :(

Why don't they change the rules for the Bulls specifically, since wins for them have been so hard to come by in recent years?

Keep this type of energy when your team faces this inevitable team wide outbreak.
