this guy.

lebron has 12 signature plays that compete with anybody's signature play and the fact we can't come up with one speaks volumes about why he shouldn't be in the goat conversation. just wow.

AI had his step over of Ty Lue
MJ had the shot in Utah over Bryon Russell
Magic Johnson had the baby hook
Shaq and Kobe had the alley oop vs Portland
Hakeem had the dream shake vs David Robinson
Curry had the buzzer beater vs OKC

LeBron will end up being the most prolific Offensive player in history but still end up without an offensive highlight that will be played for eternity.
The game winner vs Orlando.

Multiple people have come up with different plays... what kind of nonsense is this?

Hell, off the top of my head...

The three pointer I posted, the three pointer against OKC in the finals, the jumper to seal the win against San Antonio, the two off the backboard passes to himself in the finals, the dunk on Garnett, the dunk on Duncan, literally any of LeBron's game winners in the playoffs, do you need me to go on? You do? Okay. The step back game winner against the Warriors over Iggy in 2014, the dunk on Terry, jumping over a player (literally) to hit an alleyoop, a behind the back dribble through his teammates legs to get through two players.. DO I NEED TO GO ON?

No?

Okay then.

Don’t take the bait from BostonCouchGM.

As several have mentioned, there are many plays that are on the level of but none particularly stand out. If I were to narrow it down, it would be the entire +25 point run against the Pistons in the ECF during his first stint with the Cavs.

Here’s a collection of some pretty good contenders, both old and new.

First thing I thought of was the “no regard for human life” dunk on Garnett.

4 pages in and nobody has mentioned when he dunked on Damon Jones back in like 2004? That was the dunk that put him on the map.

Anyways

-Dunk on Damon Jones
-Orlando Game Winner
-Dunk on Garnett
-Dunk on Duncan
-Pistons Game 5. All of it.
-Dunk on Terry
-Dunk on Nurkic
-Playoffs in 2018 (?) against Boston where he iced the game on a fast break and-1 with Morris twin pulling on both his shoulders.
-Raptors game winner in playoffs off glass.

Personally I find the dagger he hit vs San Antonio in 2013 G7 to be the most underrated shot in NBA history. Pretty funny it's not even mentioned cuz at the time I thought that was gonna be his career defining shot sealing a Finals game 7 win lol. Goes to show the standards Bron is held to that no one ever even mentions that shot.
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

How about game 5 of the 2007 ECF where he single handedly beat the Detroit Pistons, scoring the final 25 points on his way to 48 as a 22 year old? He had several dunks off the dribble in the halfcourt against that defense in the last minute of regulation, and the game winner one on 5 layup with two seconds left in double OT. That was a pretty good offensive moment. Itll be played for eternity.

Came here to say this, I don't even want to remember it. We didn't have Ben anymore, and oldass C-Webb was our 5. LeBron just blasted on us. Like, full on annihilator in the paint. Not a soul could stop him. And we were still a good defensive team at this point, but we weren't quite at our 04 defense anymore. LeBron showed us that the torch must be passed, and it happened here. Just like Jordan had to get over Detroit to start reaching the finals, so did LeBron.

2013(?) game winner against the Pacers should be in the conversation

How many other guys have such a great understanding of the game that they can lay in a buzzer beater like that?

Never seen anything like it. Certainly not since it happened. Maybe the most memorable performance of the 2000s?

As a bulls fan, we all remember the buzzer beater against Chicago in game 4 2015.

The one that sticks out is when he grabbed the ball, then took three steps without dribbling and the ref didnt call anything. The ''Handball''

amen. i wasn't a lebron fan before that game. i was watching in bed, just a random playoff game or so i thought. lebron started going off and just continued to make shot after shot - i was completely in awe and hardly believed what i was seeing. there was no other choice but to appreciate the singular greatness that was on display. we were absolutely all witnesses.

This one hasn't been mentioned yet, but I love it because of the intensity post-dunk lol.

I mean, there are plenty of game winning (jump) shots in NBA play off history. But I don't think there are many, if any other, buzzer beating drive. Not to mention he did it against the nr. 1 defense, being guarded by an All D player in Paul George, receiving the ball 20+ feet away from the basket, with his back to the basket and having only 2.2 seconds left to complete the drive. 999 out of 1000 would have settled for a turnaround or pull up jumper.

the decision to sub out Roy Hibbert, the best rim protector at that time, for Sam **** Young only to get beaten by a layup gamewinner still is the worst coaching decision Frank Vogel ever made.
Funny thing that year was that the Spurs basically made the same mistake in the finals (subbing out Tim Duncan for a smaller player) which resulted in a Bosh Rebound and a Ray Allen 3.
