I probably watched it 10 times…just insane he is capable of making that type of shot, only two other players in league history have that in their bag and that’s MJ and Kobe

That's incredible display of Embiid's shotmaking ability. There was no 7 footer with comparable shooting game to Embiid before or since (well, other than Dirk).

That said, only MJ and Kobe? Fadeaway existed before Kobe was born...

The fade away mixed with the incredible footwork rivals Jordan and Kobe…you have to have a special type of athleticism to pull off the shot Joel did.

Special type of athleticism to make a fadeaway? Don't exaggarate...

Felt bad for whoever had to tussle with the Sixers after that debacle from the previous playoffs. Embiid is already unstoppable, him really motivated is the most dominant player on this planet.

This may be the first game where Embiid doesn't choke at end of games, hopefully it continues.

Embiid is incredibly skilled. He doesn't get enough credit for it. I wasn't surprised he made it.

D Rob hit a three at the buzzer to win a game.

And he rarely took threes

Would you call Dirk Nowitzki extremely athletic?

Nasty shot. I'm sure he shed some playoff demons when that sank. He's should be the MVP no doubt

Nowitzki had incredible balance and coordination. They are athletic traits. So, while he was not going to dunk over anybody or win a sprint race, he had other physical qualities that helped his game.

For this very reason guys like Curry and Irving are also very athletic. Balance is one of the main requirements to become a good ball handler. You also have to be extraordinarily coordinated to be a great shooter.

I've been waiting for for Joel to hit a shot like that in crunch time. He truly has taken his game his game to another this year. Deserves a ton of credit for working on his perimeter game because he knew that would allow him to become the closer he wasn't 3 years ago.

That's true, I just wondered if anyone would use the same description for Dirk as they do for Embiid.

I think the poster who responded said it better. Athleticism, is speed, strength, leaping ability and coordination. Embiid has all of those characteristics while Dirk has elite coordination combined with elite shooting.

Actually agree with you here - but the other dude said only MJ/Kobe...

He forgot Dirk's patented fadeaway...

Jokic literally has one named after him too (Sombor Shuffle) - Stepback, fadeaway

Hussien usually makes bad hot take threads, but this one is well deserved. I didnt watch first half due to Celtics/Nets game, but did second and Embiid absolutely crushed it when it mattered most. He didn't just make that big shot, but there was another clutch 3 and that ridiculous turnaround prayer 2. Kudos to him, his hard work is paying off. This is the time legends are made. Hope he continues. I have a feeling his shooting improved significantly throughout the course of the season and continuing into the playoffs. Well done big man.
