How many teams actually have caproom to sign this banana to 4x $50 million? Of those, who's dumb or desperate enough to offer this banana 4 x $50 million?

Imagine paying this idiot $50 million to sit out 80% the season then dial it in during the playoffs.

Lol
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

Dumb enough or not, no team has the cap space.

thank god Charlotte don't have the cap room (they'll probably trade Rozier and Hayward and the 2 firsts for him now)

Catch n Shoot Rozier would actually work if Simmons came back playing to his capacity.

I would put significant bonus incentives for games played in any contract I throw at him.

I'd offer either a 1yr/35% Max deal with 2nd year TO (so he can still say he's a max player, but there's no long-term risk and motivation on Kyrie to actually help the team a lot to justify continuing to get a huge salary), or else a 4yr/$120M deal - ends with Durant and low enough that it's at least plausible that he could live up to it. Also low enough that it's semi-palatable to another team if there are continued problems and you look to trade him.

He's getting a max deal - players of his leverage get the deals done. Plus he's KD's boy and if he walks or the Nets piss him off KD will ask out.

Isn't Kyrie the gm? I'm sure they will let him write his own contract.

Fine. If KD ask out, trade him for pieces. At some point you can't make a dumb move just because you let him hold you by the balls.

They should find a sign and trade. Can't win a title with someone like Kyrie who doesn't care about the game. If the nets max him out they're screwed, if they even bring him back they're screwed. Dude is a toxic airhead and hopefully this season was enough for them to realize it. Kd will be in his feelings that his bff is gone but he has 4 yrs left. And he's always in his feelings with his spineless insecure ass lol.

Do you still offer a long term max contract(4 or 5 years) or just short term contract(1 year or 2) or do you offer less than the max contract and take the bet that no other team will be interested in signing Kyrie because of all the drama around him?

I don't think Kyrie has leverage on this, so what will you do with him?

Lol

Because I don't believe any other team will offer Kyrie a max contract because he's been so unavailable for so many reasons in the past few years.I also don't think he's interested in playing elsewhere

This. He just announced he is not going anywhere. So he basically killed his own leverage..LMAO..which team will want to trade their picks and likely young star(s) for the player who will claim to be upset and cant mentally play every-time strong earthquake hits Japan or something. At least Ben admitted he is not right in his head and has mental blockage caused not only by himself but also Philly (Doc Rivers). Kyrie does not have even self awareness. And Yes KD deserves these dudes as teammates when he wasnt pleased with GSW splash brothers..karma is a bitch

You realize him saying he's not going anywhere doesn't somehow make him not a free agent, right? His staying with the Nets is pretty obviously contingent on the Nets offering him a good enough contract, and if they don't he's still free to sign with some other team. Nothing mechanically prevents him from signing with the Spurs or Blazers or whoever. It won't happen because he and the Nets will come upon a mutually agreeable deal, but the idea that they have him over a barrel because he said he will stay is silly.

Incidentally a promise from Kyrie he's not going anywhere isn't worth very much - he has a history here.

Zero chance Ky signs an incentive laden deal. He is a VP of the Players Association.

I was thinking about it earlier. I can’t think of any combo that would make me want Kyrie in a trade. Def no to ky for Beal straight up

I wouldn’t want this guy near my team, but with KD locked up they are in a tough spot. I can’t see this working out well for Brooklyn.

You're going about this the wrong way. The question is: "Kyrie, now that you manage the Nets, what the heck do we do with you?"
