My response is a resounding no thank you. Trade him on draft day and get a decent pick.
What team is gonna trade a draft pick just a few days before he enters Free agency?
Idek what kinda pick he’d be able to get anyways. Cant really see any of the top 10 picks being available for a guy like him. Teams would much rather take a rookie on a rookie contract than Ayton

What a joke. Why not talk about how you want a 5-year max?

I don't really know what they do. You can't just run a team back after a loss like this.
But they are stuck with a still very young core aside from CP3.
Essentially the Suns are in basketball hell now. A super young core that everyone knows will never win anything.
Honestly? Everyone, including Booker and CP3, should be considered tradeable.

Suns shouldn't need Ayton to carry the load with the backcourt they have. What about the fact Bridges/Crowder and the coaching staff couldn't limit Doncic at all.
It's probably the coaches fault and maybe Ayton sticks around once Monty is gone. He doesn't really have a pedigree beside the last 2 years.

Exactly. Book looks checked out on this team.
Make everyone available.

This was Pauls last shot at a ring

Who knows right? Maybe he just wants to showboat and talk a big game.
His attitude might be perfect for a pretender.

I feel pretty comfortable in saying tonight showed Booker will never win a title as the best player on a team.

Re: Post-Mortem: 2021-22 Phoenix Suns
Regardless of what happened in game 7 the Suns will need to resign Ayton as cheap as possible because they aren't going to be able to get a young athletic center like him and he's a big reason for the Suns success.
What will need to be worked on next season is to think about how to revolve the offense around Ayton a bit more in the low post because he's almost an afterthought when it comes to scoring and his offensive development was sacrificed for team success.
Maybe the Suns don't win 60+ games in the regular season if we make a concerted effort to go through Ayton more but it should bring greater success in games when you have a really hard time scoring on jumpers.
Aside from that they need to shore up the back up PG and try to get a taller more athletic power forward or a slashing forward like they had in Oubre.

Re: Post-Mortem: 2021-22 Phoenix Suns
it's funny because he has been the guy we have identified with this franchise, more so than Paul. there were talks of him becoming best Sun ever if we won a ring. maybe this disappointing performance does make him symbolic of the Suns.GoranTragic wrote:pj0tr wrote:GoranTragic wrote:

I just don’t see how they win a title with CP3 on the team. I’d try to trade him for an expiring if possible and retool.

I think the market for ayton is the max (he will be a RFA). suns will have to decide if that's worth it or if they decide to ship him out and get some value back.
I just can see alot of teams throwing money at him, he is definitely worth the risk IMO

Ayton is not coming back. Either him or Monty will not be on this team.
