Both cities will sell out for different reasons-

I got a gang of free Golden Knights tickets to see the Canucks just because I mentioned to the hotel that I like hockey...the game experience was amazing but I hate the canucks lol

And if you have been to any sports game in Seattle or been to Seattle down town on game day...it’s pretty damn festive..

In dc we could be in the Stanley cup finals or WS and people don’t even know...

No thanks. Let Minny or New Orleans move.

If they ever bought back the Seattle Supersonics, it would become the best selling merch in the league.

8 divisions? How would that work?

California:
LA
LA
Golden State
Sacramento

Pacific:
Seattle
Portland
Vegas
Phoenix

Middle:
Utah
Denver
OKC
Memphis

Texas:
San Antonio
Houston
Dallas
New Orleans

Southeast:
Miami
Orlando
Atlanta
Charlotte

Central
Minnesota
Milwaukee
Chicago
Indiana

Northeast:
Boston
New York
Brooklyn
Philly

The North:
Toronto
Detroit
Cleveland
Washington

Do y’all actually know where Memphis is....lol like I’m not joking - It’s in Tennessee....seriously it is

Okay, how would you do 8 divisions? I guess you could break up the Texas teams and have Memphis, New Orleans, Houston, and San Antonio as one division and Dallas, OKC, Phoenix, and Vegas as another division but I was trying to do it without splitting up the Texas teams.

That’s why I think 4 divisions of 8 makes more sense, and you’d have Memphis, New Orleans, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, OKC, Denver, and Utah all in one division.

The closer the teams more chance that the avg fans can do home and away games...so location matters...

In dc we just get on Amtrak and see Knicks, Boston and Philly games...I would drive to Charlotte and cheap flights to the ATL...let’s go

Minnesota should be the team that moves to the East. Look at the map you posted. Minnesota right now is in the same division as Portland, when it’s right next to Milwaukee and Chicago. Meanwhile Memphis is not that far away from New Orleans, OKC, Houston, Dallas, or San Antonio, and it’s over 1,000 miles away from Miami.

We aren't getting more teams. Cuban already spelled out what expansion actually is--nothing but a short-term loan to the existing franchises with a huge back end loss. New Markets can't generate 1/16th of the existing NBA revenue required just to break even. Not even close. So the existing governors aren't going to vote for this.

If Seattle and Vegas get teams it will be existing teams moving there.
Adding franchises is a money losing proposition for the existing teams and they know it even if fans don't understand the franchise fees are quickly given back by the additional revenue split.

Spot on.

What a spoiler alert.

That was the rumor. As far as what I'm hearing there is no set date yet.

Honestly, they should contract two teams. Then take two more teams and move them to Seattle and Vegas.

I have a rather strange suggestion. Personally, I don't think the Kings should stay in Sacramento. I think they need to be moved to one of their old locations, either Kansas City or Cincinnati. And if they move them to Kansas City, move the Thunder back to Seattle. Then you could have two new teams in Vegas and personally, I think one of Cincinnati, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh should've had an NBA team by now. Just my two cents.

Super-teams will never go away as long as the NBA has a soft-cap instead of a hard-cap.

Yeah this comments seems off. Of all the super-teams we've seen in the last 15 years, a cap spike contributed to one of them getting one player one time: it was a little easier for KD to come because of the 2016 spike. Even that could've been accomplished without the cap spike (e.g. Iggy and Livingston could've been dumped easily into cap space).

The rest of them--KG Celtics, Lebron Heat, Lebron Cavs, KD Nets, etc--happened without any major cap bump in any of the years they came together.

I mean, your team was stolen, in a way it was more loyal to jump ship than stick with the captors. Gotta be a free pass to re-board that train.

Deep teams are going to get poached in the expansion draft.

Historically, teams have only been allowed to protect eight players.
