Replace Duncan Robinson with Jerami Grant somehow.

I'm using Herro and whatever picks I can scrape together to try and land a two way player to put with Butler and Bam.
Herro can score, and he's young, but I'm not sure he'll ever be more than a bench scorer on a team with Championship aspirations.

Otherwise you trade Bam, but that's not the way I'd go. I get that his offence waxes and wanes, but get a proper two way number 2, that's less of an issue.

Build around Butler for a 2 year run at it. Dude really isn't quite at that level, but gee he can do a good impersonation of a star.

Re-sign Oladipo with Bird Rights. He looks like he finally has his movement back, just need the shot to return. I still wouldn't spend too much on him. If he wants more than an MLE equivalent, I'd have to be extremely confident that he can come in and play 30mpg [with half of those minutes at backup PG]. Not sure on that; he can take some awful shots and frequently pass to the stands on bad nights.

Caleb Martin is the only other FA I'd have any interest in keeping. Maybe Dedmon on a minimum.

Next year, I think Miami should spend more time playing big in the regular season: Yurtseven can score, rebound both sides, and play solid defense in a scheme [just not the switch happy style Miami prefers]. His advanced stats [-1.4 OBPM, +0.4 DBMP, and others] aren't bad for a rookie [albeit an older one].

Playing bigger during the regular season should help the team stay healthy even if they win a few less games because of it.

I think Vincent is terrible. The Heat need an upgrade at backup PG.

The coaching staff has got to get Duncan Robinson right. I don't understand what happened to him. His style can be easily countered in the playoffs [Korver, etc.], but he was **** in the regular season as well.

Of course, Miami has several trade-able contracts with the right amount of money attached to be aggressive on the trade market if they want to go that route. They have all their first round picks other than 2023. I think this is also a likely outcome, though I have no clue who they'd target.

Clown #HeatCulture all you want, but it works. The Heat have so many undrafted players on their team yet they secured the #1 seed in the East and were a shot away from being in the Finals again.

They can probably sell high on some of those undrafted gems who were huge for them throughout the playoffs. Strus and Vincent were great, but the Heat can certainly upgrade on those two. Not sure if Oladipo is a keeper, but he played well in stretches during the playoffs.

And they probably need to trade Herro if they really want to improve. This is the second straight playoffs where he's struggled when facing an elite defense. His value is highest right now, so maybe they can convince some team with a disgruntled star to take him together with Robinson's albatross contract.

If you and I can see how little value Robinson and Herro actually have to offer considering their contract status and recent playoffs, I'm pretty sure most GM's can as well.

You're stuck with Butler but he's not the problem, no one will take Lowry. Bam has some value to a dumb GM somewhere, seems like the easiest piece to switch out. Duncan, well, any draft picks to toss in to get rid of him?
Strus, Vincent, and Yurtseven are great value, keep if possible. Herro seems like the kind of scorer they need in theory but it's not paying off when needed. I'd probably move him. I still like Tucker if you're trying to win. Dipo is useful.

These recaps should include upcoming available draft picks. I am too lazy to look.

If Strus can stay healthy, I think he will have a great year next year. Overall, he struggled in this series but he is very good.

they probably need to look another way if Duncan Robinson is going to get paid to be a high end role player at that contract but looks like a shell of himself - dude took the money and peaced out.

don't know how else to put it - think they are missing another high end wing player - else probably be competitive - don't see how they will get far again next year without some upgrades.

Seems like the Heat are going to struggle just bringing back the same roster, let alone get better. Struss/Vincent/Tucker/Herro/Oladipo will all be free agents and be looking for better deals. That Robinson contract is going to screw them hard.

Are we sure Tucker's opting out? The Celtics ran him off the floor tonight. If you can't keep up with Horford and Grant Williams, that doesn't bode well for your future.

Tucker would be dumb to opt out. He was a frightened turtle last night. He was the same for the Bucks in the Finals last year. I can't imagine any team giving him more than the $7.35 million he's due to make next year.
