The first sentence summarizes almost always, every great player's rough night in the +-.
In general, it talks bad about noone. It happens.
It's something to bring up if you dislike a player or a team.

For all his “Kobe is my role model” talk, Kobe would have attacked the basket a lot more on some of those drives he had a weak kick outs. Kobe was a dog, I just don’t see that in Tatum. He needs more of a mean streak, but it probably won’t ever happen if it doesn’t come naturally for him now.

It comes and goes with Tatum. The main thing that's lacking in his game is consistency. He has the talent to be one of the best players in the league we just don't get to see it on a nightly basis.

Biggest sweep under the rug job ever .
Even a -1 would disparage a guys 30 point game because the team was negative with him on the floor.
It’s an empty stats game.
Low and behold we have a historically bad +\- and the narrative here is really forgiving .

Celtics fans still want to argue about his consistency? He's been dreadful so far through 2 games (except playmaking in game 1 and from 3 in the 1st half of game 2.) If you are anointed by a group of people as a superstar and a top 5 player, you need to be better than this.

So if the Celtics lose in 6, then he might have a chance to catch LeBron James' legendary -60 in the 2018 Finals.

Update:

4 games later, Tatum's plus/minus only declined by 1, leaving him 39 short.

So LeBron's fabled record stands the test of time.

He's a young player who had a killer season and playoff until the finals. As a lifelong Celtics hater give Tatum a break. He's just entering his prime
